Little Bro's GT vs. 91 LX
My little bro has a 87GT that's carbed. It has a 750cfm carb, stock internals, Performer RPM intake, Hooker shorty headers, MSD 6al, blaster 2 coil, 3:73 gears, Holley blue, and is on BFG Drag radials. A buddy of his at school has a 91 LX that's bone stock except for 3.73 gears, and a 75 shot. He is going to run him soon, and he wanted you all's opinion on who would win! what's your opinion's? Oh yeah the LX is on street tires. How much hp is both cars putting out?? thanx.
Eric

What are the trannys on the cars? Stock AOD is slower vs. stock T5....
I will assume both cars are T5 equipped or both are aod....if the 91lx is t5 and the gt is aod...then the 91lx wins.....if the 91lx is aod and the gt is t5 then it might be a pretty good race because like i already said..STOCK aods are pigs. A stock 5.0 w/ an aod will run 0-60 in 7 seconds! Really, when you look at the two cars..it's an edelbrock performer rpm intake + headers vs. 75 shot of nitrous.... If both cars are T5 equipped... I think the carb'ed GT will need a good launch coupled with the 91LX having a poor launch in order for the GT to have a good chance of winning. This is another way of saying that, all things being equal, the juiced lx should win. Driving error can make anything happen though... I think the carb'ed GT is making about 265hp I think the LX is making about 315 hp Again, I'd have to give my nod to the 91 lx...... 5.0s seem to respond very well to even smallish 75 shots of the juice... That 750 carb sounds a little big to me for what he has. I say he running too rich. The 91' takes it.
