I would like to say me... but that car is a 13.1 runner. ... I kept up good until 3rd gear.
Link: http://members.mustangworks.com/liza...stangVSLS1.mpg I gotta a funny story about that guy. He is a friend so he asks me if I wanna try his car down the track... DO I EVER!!! So he tells me to shift at redline (6000rpms), and to be smooth between the gates, oh and launch from 2500-3000rpm. So I try a first run against his brother's Honda S2000... completely embrasses me... I had some shifting issues (going to fast). Pulled a 14.5 (DAMN!). I ask him for another try at it, I don't want to look that bad. So they are all chuckling at the "rustang" driver, that got beat by the import in a 35th anniversery TA. I new I could only improve, but this time I would do it my way. I line up for a launch at 1500rpm, and I get the car to 5250-5500rpm between shifts, I got up to about 50-100ft from the line and could not get the shifter in 4th gear... so I glided through the line. Anyways, when I got back to posting area, he was so mad. I felt bad, I didn't know what was going on. I beat his best time. I hit a 13.19, and his best post up to know was 13.20. But he had not realized that I had not put it in 4th yet. His usual was 107-108MPH and I got it in at 90MPH. I was laughing inside but did not want piss him off too bad. Anyways, his goal was to hit the 12s and I said I can do it if you want... response: that's ok, I'll drive from now on. One of the best times I had last summer. That is the day I pulled my 13.69. ------------------ Lizard King, Bone Stock; 13.69 at 101MPH • http://members.mustangworks.com/liza...meburnout2.mpg •http://members.mustangworks.com/liza...stangVSLS1.mpg • <A HREF="http://members.mustangworks.com/lizardking/quartermile.mpg" TARGET=_blank>http://members.mustangworks.com/lizardking/q |

I'll bet if you would have told the guy that you didn't even shift into 4th, he would have been crushed. It doesn't give you a good feeling when someone can just waltz in and drive your car better than you! But good job.

He must extremely suck at driving. Kinda what I did with my ex-friends p.o.s. import 00' civic. He had ran a 16.9 ha ha haa. He had an intake exhaust but his shifting sucked every shift he would bog letting out the clutch too quick and gunning it. Well I was like let me give it a run he was hisitant but said yes. Got in their reved it to 5500 rpm let the clutch drop I think I over did it because it started hoping no time to turn back and switching at 6500 rpm made a nice scratch through all five gears, came to the end of the track. A big old 16.3 jumped on the screen needless to say I've heard he's trying to say he did it by showing off his time print out that I got. Damn ricers, nothing like the feel of v8 hp at your foot though.

Well he was happy about the time slip but disapointed he did not get. As soon as he correct his shifts to 500rpm before redline, his times went lower.
'm not trying to show off, but I'm sorta known in the area here as the driver. People let me drive there cars to get feedback on them... I've driven everything from Civics, 300zx to C5s and '00 911 Carrera 4. It's all fun. After I went back to my car... I was disapointed. It felt slow, the gears were sloutchy, the exaust not loud enough... He had an SLP RESONATOR on his WS6, didn't he? I agree, it sounded bad-azz.
As for the gears, maybe in 2002 the Mustang will be fitted with a T-56? Not like the "othe guys" are gonna need 'em any more. |

Lizard King,
Where do you launch and shift at in your '00, and what kind of 60's do you turn? |
