Default LS1 Vs. '94 Cobra

Met up with a guy i know who recently purchased a '94 Cobra with gears, exhaust, cold air, shifter, Steeda G-Trac suspension. I was at the track last night just watchin....he ran 14.0 @ 100. First time with the car at the track.

The computer in that car is holding it back so much, really kills the timing between shifts! We did a few rolls though with surprising results. He went from 60ish to 90..1st run he jumped, pulled a good 1.5 cars on me, and i was at his bumper at 90 where we shut down. Next run, same mph...i pulled maybe a car or so on a more even start. Then we hit a 30 to 80 run with a good even start. The Cobra hung right there! I couldn't believe it. He was only at my rear tire when we let off. I think at the track that computer is really killing the E.T. Seems like it has more than 100 mph in it when i drove it and when he hung next to my 107 mph LS1. When he had a '01 GT that trapped 101...i would put a good 2.5-3 cars on him from a 30-80 roll.

He let me drive the car....Awesome. That suspension is so much fun. I am SERIOUSLY on the hunt for a '94-95 Cobra now. Nice car, excellent seats, sound, feel, everything. Just needs a computer swap though.

Anyways...thought I would share.

yea that was weird how he hung in there. He was in 2nd on the 30 mph run, so he had the advantage of not having the computer kill the timing on the start.

Gotta love running Cobras vs. LS1's!! Especially that close of a race! he's got plenty he can do with his 5.0 Cobra that would help him hang with ya better, as you know, so what out!

Default '94 Cobra= 14ish?

Don't the '94 Cobras run around 14.0xx? What does your LS1, A4 run? Just curious here. If you've said before, I apollogize.

The LS1 runs 13.0s @ 107.

REV....he ran 14.0s @ 100 with the mods listed. I think that him starting in 2nd helped alot b/c that computer kills the timing so bad between shifts.

Venum...selling the LS1 to keep the '86 and mod it...

Default 13.0xx's?

Damn EZ, do you mean 13.0xx's at the track or 13's in general? !3.0xx's are really impressive for an LS1 A4. Only an inquirey, not questioning your times.

His LS1 runs 13.0 period. Those things run like STINK>

I couldn't believe I kept up as well as I did either. Ran another T/A who ran 13.3 and he put 1/4 car on me by 110. Something is funky with my car.

I have 1 mod in the mail right now, and another one this week so we'll go again EZ

OH and lets get the story strait!!!! EZ's 86 GT is pretty darn quick. A lot faster than it looks for sure.

with just a cat back on mine I ran 13.2 @ 108.7, but I had 2.25 60's on it. Also my first time to drive a stick at the track.
