LS1 Z28--Nowhere to hide!!!
This is good. I just bought a house and have kept my car dormant in the garage, tweakin' and tunin'. There are a few car guys on my street, and one red Z28 in particular that likes to rev his motor up while driving by.
So I take my car out for a ride yesterday after work and who is driving by as I am backing out of my driveway? Mr. Z28, revving his welded in Flowmaster to the moon. I follow him out of the subdivision and through traffic. He is weaving in and out of traffic a lot and I get stuck at a light while he goes through it. He gets stuck at the light a block ahead as I wait for what seemed to be an eternity for my light to change. It goes green and I take off after him. I pull up to the light right next to him. Sitting duck!!! Now he lurches his car forward a couple times and starts creeping as the opposing light goes yellow. He jumps the light early and I go a car or so after him, Perfoming a nice ET Street launch. By the 1-2 shift it seems as I was catipulted next to him, and I kept pulling like crazy. By the middle of 3rd I could actually see him behind me in my rear view!!! By this time there seemed to be a football field between us, so I coasted back to the speed limit where of course, he would not drive next to me in traffic. I wonder if while I am out wrenching he will throw another rev as he drives by???!!!! ------------------ 1988 Mustang GT 11.8 @ 123 (7/14/01) 11.5 @ 120 (9/14/01) 1992 BadAzz Wrangler 1993 Explorer See my car at: www.mustangworks.com/cgi-bin/moi-display.cgi?179 |

Hey, Good Kill!! BTW, how old is this guy? Wondering cause usually, older guys don't rev at me, but teenagers do it a lot.

He was a young guy. Probably 19-22 or so. I am 27, but I still consider myself a young whipper-snapper too. I have not seen him down the street yet.
Who knows, maybe after the race he headed straight to a Ford dealership to trade up. |

Well he could not have been too bright. One of the first things I look at from a dead dig are my opponents tires. And he wanted to run a lumpy sounding ET streeted' Mustang from the hole???

He also might not of wanted a full out race and just quit because he didnt want a ticket for racing on the street. z28's are ******* fast and most guys I know have em modded. Confucious say "man who pats himself on back too much, starts patting his monkey too." I think stangs look better, I dont care who's faster, 260 HP out my stock 01 GT is enough oomph for me.
