LT-1 Camaro goes down.
Ran into a black LT-1 Camaro last night. He snuck up on me at a red light and peeled off right next to me. Since I wasn't ready, I just took off at a regular rate. He slowed and we went from a 25mph roll. He didn't stand a chance.
I was not impressed. I thought the newer 350ci Camaros were balls to the wall. Must just be the LS1s..... |
I luv when soemone shows off and then gets shutdown like that. good kill!

i would hope your cobra beat that LT1. your car is lighter and a cobra will hook up better than a camaro

I would hope that a mild heads/cam/intake 5.0 GT would smoke an LT-1 as well though. I've been whuppin up on them with my near stock 88 and 87 GT's for years now. |

Actually, my car is an LX coupe. It has no hatch, no wing and no ground effects. I believe it is the lightest Mustang ever produced, so, I probably do have a weight advantage over most cars. Like most Mustangs, I definitely don't have a traction advantage.
Believe it or not, I haven't gotten in many races with Camaros around here. This is the first one I've come across since getting my new motor. It's more of a Mustang area (but the rice is definitely get out of control). My fiance's brother told me that his buddy just picked up a 2002 Camaro 35th Anniversy last week. He said he would race me after he got past the break-in period. Are mid-13s normal for the LS1s? Might be a hell of a race if he can drive it. |

Nice Kill! I'm going to miss those camero's after this year. Who are we going to go after next?
§am. |
there are still plenty of camaros and firebirds to go after. theyre not all going to go away because GM is not manufacturing them anymore.

A friend of mine has an LS1 Anniversary TA automatic. He's got a converter, chip, and a 75hp shot of the sauce. If he's got more than that, I don't know of it.
Anyway, at the track the other day, they were running grudge match street races. Basically they take down the tree and close the tower and you run what you brung mano-a-mano. He lined up next to a "slightly" hopped up Fairlane that runs 11.7's and 11.8's on a consistant basis. He lost, but only by two cars. That puts him somewhere in the low 12's...say around 12.2-12.0 or so? That is booking it. Of course, he blew his already slipping tranny on the run. Keep in mind that this is at 3400 ft of altitude. --nathan |
