more street races at my house

Didnt have a large crowd, just about 10 cars. Some kind of formidable though. I have a couple of pics i'll try to post later. Got a question though. I was racing an 03 cobra, a guy i know. He is a friend but more a competitor. I beat him race #1 by about 3 cars. My car destroys his out of the hole and gently pulls on out down the streach. Btw, he is kind of new. About 6 months under his belt. Race # 2 I killed him out of the hole and missed 2nd. Dang. Amature night. He got by me and i pulled back to his door at the finish. Hell he pulled it over and parked it. That was good enough for him. I didn't ask for a rematch yet. I think its obvious. While we were standing around he makes the remark "I knew i could do it , I knew it was in there, I was havign trouble finding it and then i did. " I started to say something about my crappy driving being his only salvation but i didnt. What would you guys have done? Nobody likes egg on face but then, driving counts. He thinks his car is faster now. Its not. He won by a door and i smoked him by 3 cars. I patted his back and told him his car runs good. Hell it does.

Race him for cash and let your car do the talking. Good kill by the way.

The little pissant is ripe for a cash race

What the heck?!?! You guys buying this shiznitt??

There's no frickin' way that old 1984 pile of crap rust bucket GT could pull on that Cobra. I don't know if you know it or not, Mr. 84gt347, but the new Cobras have a SUPERCHARGED motor. That means that air is forced into the intake which makes, like, butt loads after Taco Bell more power.

I raise the BS flag here. No way that little POS could pull a new Cobra. The Cobra guy must have broke his gas pedal or something and had to re-stab the nub. I'm surprised he didn't walk your junior-high can all the way to the grocery store.

Later.

;)

BTW, you ever get that rust bucket of a vert up a running?

re: silver pile of it

you cant even talk trash and sound convincing. If anything is getting air forced in it, its your mouth. BTW the vert starts now, but i'm having a sensor problem of some sort. Maby the igniton module or tps. It idles like crap and sometimes wont start at all. It surges while trying to normal accelerate. Another headache. O btw again. the kids girlfriend came in to get an insurance quote today. She said that he does know he was handed that 2nd race. Hell, driving counts. I hate losing. The score is still 3 to 1 me:D . I cant believe i even dwell on this at all. My testoserone(SP) levels are up.

Oh yeah...that's right. I forgot that you're from the South side and aren't down with all this flippity-flam lingo.

Up here on the North side, shiznitt refers to crap, dung, stool, poo, ****, what you get after making brown, the result of dropping the kids off at the pool or talking to a man about a job, fecal matter, excrement, a massed compile of undigestible proteins, fiber, and waste products. You know...shiznitt.

Sheesh...you need to spend more time in the North West Texas hood, brutha.

Heheh....

Well, at least you got the vert started. I'm telling ya', you just need to take that blower off of there and toss it into the "give to Nathan because he rocks" bin. Maybe you could buy one of those $70 superchargers they advertise on infomertials...the spiral core insert or tornado or something like that :D.

Good luck on getting the vert going. Sounds like the 347 is running and hooking like mad. You'll get the wheels up soon. Also, at least the kid knows that you would have handed it to him had you not missed second. Tellin' you man, you gotta build a stout AOD for that thing. Especially on the sauce.

I'll catch you later.

oooo ,you mean "****". hee hee. Casey is coming down the saturday after next (8th) around 1:00 . Are you gonna be around?

silver_pilate 02-26-2003 11:59 AM

It depends....

I resigned from my scheduled employment in Plainview. They're keeping me on PRN to call for subs, but it was getting to where it wasn't worth it for five hours a week. Anyway, so that will free up my weekends a bit.

However, we've got new batch of potential graduate student interviewing on the eighth in Amarillo. The first years are handeling most of it, but I may need to stick around to help with the process. If they've got it covered, I'll head down and meet up with you guys somewhere.

A win is a win...No matter if its a fender or 5 carlengths...Doesnt matter if you missed a shift or not you lost 1 race. Let him have his 5 seconds of glory then ask him to race again.

84gt347 02-27-2003 02:54 PM

Tru, i just hate that he thinks his car is faster. i'll rematch him soon. But crap, i beat him by 4 cars, he wins by a fender and now he thinks his car is faster. 1 for 1 with distance being in my favor:)

silver_pilate 02-27-2003 06:27 PM

Yeah, a win is a win, but come on....

There must be some kind of developmental delay with this guy. When you loose two races by 4+ cars (John isn't metioning that he raced him once prior to this and destroyed the same guy/car by 4 lengths then) and then suddenly win a race by one car, that doesn't mean your car suddenly picked up gobs of power.

Heck, if I raced Billy Glidden 100 times, I would probably beat him once or twice in my GT because his motor failed on launch. Does that mean that I'm faster? Heck no. :)

Given, the comparison of John's car to the Cobra is a little closer, but it's still pretty obvious who's got the faster car. If you win one on a fluke, great. But don't go around spouting about how you beat him and that you knew your car could do it. It's just luck.

That being said, if John was running for money and lost because he missed second, the Cobra gets the win and the cash. Period.

I'm tellin you John, build up an AOD (or learn to drive  :D )
