My Ex's 00 GT
Well my ex girlfriend has a 00 GT 5 spd, she mainly got it b/c I wanted it. I ran her car a few times and won the races so I wanted to try it against my car. So one day when she was at work I drove my car and my buddy drove hers, needless to say I got beat by about a car and a half. Well within a few days I ordered the Holley Systemax II kit and lots of other goodies. Now the girl and I are broke up, but I want another piece of that car. That would not look good trying to explain that to my new g/f. Should I take the risk of getting caught with her or not?

well I will try to figure out a way to get the car off her so that I can race it. Either me or my friend will have to drive it. There is no way I can explain getting seen driving her car to my new g/f, but I will find a way.

Should you risk getting caught or not? Well that depends how much you like your New g/f, if she's one of those girls who trip on stuff like that, then I would'nt risk it and you get to avoid all the dRaMa and bitchin' from her on the other hand do you really think your EX is really going to let you have her car? If she does then more power to you, all I know is I would'nt let my ex have my baby for nothin' as a matter of fact nobody drives him except for me. I care a lot about my new g/f and she would break up with me in a sec if she knew I was even talking to the other one. She hates her b/c she is always trying to get back with me. I will figure something out.

Just go to your local Mustang club and say "I've got $50 that says no stock "00 GT 5-speed can beat me. That way if you win you're $50 ahead. If you lose, the GF can't say a word, and you'll still know how you fared. No ex even involved.

I agree with Rev. Just go out and find you some other new GT's to race. Unless it's got some mods the other GT's oughta be about the same.

Mean50, what was your mods when you raced the 00gt? i refuse to lose to those 00 gt's, but of course sometimes they refuse to lose against 5.0's

I was surprised, cause I just found out the other day that the '01 (00) GT's have 260(!)hp, as well as 300 ft/lbs. A kid at my school just got one (his parents got it for him) and I didn't believe it when he said it (of course I had reason not to, he also said that it was a 5.0.............). I am happy that ford has put some power into the new stangs, but angry (annoyed?) that someone else has a faster car then mine. Does anyone know how the new stangs stack up against a 87-93? Of course, mine is an auto. I get really pissed off, cause there is another kid who has a 91 lx with 3.73, no cats and its Jail Me Orange. Everyone thinks his car is so incredibly fast, and there is soooo much hype about it. I try to reason with people and tell them that yes, it is fast, but so is a stock 5.0L, and they are thoroughly confused. Oh, and that little b*tch also had his parents buy that for him (its the second car they've gotten him in a year!). Ugh, I really hate some people.

Well when I raced the 00 GT I had 3.55 gears and an F303 cam. The car did not respond to the cam though b/c everything else was stock. From driving her car and racing it against cars around here, it would beat stock 87-93 Mustangs by probably 2 to 3 cars in a measured off 1/4 from a dead stop. I had nitrous then too, but of course it wasn't on. I know my car is faster now, but I just want to prove it.

It would be so intensly tight to race against you... My car will hit 13.7 consistently only with the right headlight out (RAM AIR). For street racing, there is no way I'm taking that out,... My car will pull 13.9 consistently with the headlight in... WOW! An F cam with stock heads, intake and inducton! That probably hurt more than helped. My B cam (which is smaller than the F) didnt make a good difference untill I got the TB and MAF. Good luck Mean50.

I'd watch out Lizard King! I've been down there, and I've been up here in MN, let me tell you right now my car lost a ton of HP in the heat down there! Not even funny. It was like I was whippin a dead horse <pun intended> What kinda temps were you guys running in when you got your best times?
I wouldn't doubt a bit my car picks up a couple tenths easy when it gets good and cold out. I'm itchin for a G-tech now hehe. |

Hot weather makes my car feel sooo slow. When I ran 13.2@106 on a 105 degree day my car felt so slow, I wondered if it was gonna pull a 14. I got to the end and saw 13.2, i was holy **** !

Sky I looked at your videos, they were cool and your car seemed strong. What kind of tire are you running b/c they don't hook worth anything. On the street you would get burned b/c you would get pulled off the line a couple of cars. I used to be able to get everyone off the line, now that I have all the mods I had to get better tires and launch easier.
If my ex drove her car then I know I would smoke it. I am putting the tranny back in my car tomorrow and I will try to catch her out and play with her some. I will let you know how it goes |
