Question My recent loses...

Im sure most of you have read of my 2 recent losses, and of the feelings of inadequacy they have brought. I think I have planned out my next mods, what do you guys think?

1. 4.10 gears
2. WMS CAI w/87mm MAF
3. Bassani X-pipe w/cats (cali law)
4. Lowering springs (dont like the 4x4 look)

I have to stay warranty friendly, and the dealer has approved these mods. Will I be in the 13's with these? Keep in mind Im an auto. Any other suggestions? Thanks.

If you want a good street car, you should get the stuff you're considering, plus a shifter and sticky tires. Go for the Nitto 555R's or the BF Goodrich drag radials. That'll help you if you launch hard with the 4.10's, otherwise they'll hit too hard and you'll spin badly.

I do want a mean street car, but I have an auto, so I dont think a shifter would help me. The tire idea is a good one though. Thanks.

A shift kit and converter would round that all out nicely and I think make a world of difference. Also I would go with a pulleys before the MAF.

Skyman, I considered some steeda pulleys but the dealer rejected that idea. They said anything from the MAF to the throttle body is ok, and from the headers back is ok, but the engine must remain untouched.

I'm new to the internet & I'm just trying it out. This stuff is great.

An often overlooked trick is a shorter tire for sat nite street fights such as a drop from 29" to 26"

They cant void your warrenty for any performance part. Even a supercharger. The only way they can viod yoru warrenty if they can prove the part you installed caused the failure that your trying to claim warrenty work on.

Pulleys is hardly a engine mod. Your dealer is stuipid. Tell him to get his stuff straight, and get your pulleys and converter.

I dont know If I'll tell him he's stupid... but I'll probably just put em on anyway. I know they are a quality mod as far as gaining a few easy Hp, but is there any strain on the engine I should know about beforehand? Thanks Skyman.

Pullies reduce the strain on the engine, which is why you gain hp. Since you have a powerful factory alternator you won't have to worry about charging problems, and with a new car like that, no cooling problems should show either.

The pullies should be totally worry free, easy to install, inexpensive, and give you a few horsepower, probably somewhere in the 10hp area.

Unit is dead on. Less strain on the motor and no associated drawbacks.
