Question midrange power loss on 91 5.0

I own a 91' 5.0 mustang gt. The car has 85000 miles on it. I have a major loss of midrange power, with mild acceleration it will begin to chug after 2nd gear. I have to put the pedal almost all the way down to get it to accelerate properly again. Ive heard this is a common problem on mustangs of this year and engine type but thats all i know, anyone help? BTW its an aod.

There are so many things that it could be from bad spark plug wires bad gas ....injectors.. Just do the basics and see where that gets you change the plugs, wires, cap and rotor and poor some fuel injector cleaner in the gas tank.

I have an 88GT that started acting like that. It ended up being the TPS, it was a 5 min. fix that took me a week to figure out. Use the book and a test light and run the codes. Just a thought. Good luck....
