Question My stang vs. early 90's 5.7's?

Do you guys think I can take a late 80's or early 90's 5.7L GM? I have much respect for these guys since my last time at the track racing the "late models".

I went up to see visit my g/f up north and some guy raced up from behind us in his early 90's TA and threw a rev and then sparked 'em. He turned off right away but I would have raced him with her in it anyways. My g/f is cool like that.

I still have 2.73's in but will have my 3.55's installed soon plus home-made ram-air and sway bar removed.

Yes, I am talkin' stock 5.7's. I have never raced an early 90's yet. Is it in the cards soon or what?

If you're talking about the new body style then I'd saw you'd be close but the '90-92 would be an easy kill for ya. BTW how far up north does your g/f live?

Tony

the new body styles are fast, the previous early 90's/80's ones are super slow. iroc-z means hickish and slow. stock for stock, a mustang will destroy them, don't have any worries.

I haven't been racing anyone this summer anyways because I had to turn my timing down to 8*. With the crappy reformulated gas they make us use and the heat and humidity it wasn't a choice. I added the Home Depot Ram Air a couple daze ago and the gears will be installed soon after school is in session (Aug. 28th) MATC will install them for only 10% of the cost of parts!!!

ONEHOTLX,

my g/f lives in Freedom, WI. She is a new member on this site now too! She was born a Chevy girl but I am bringing her around!

Yep, every couple hours a fast F body would roll off the lines. Trouble is, they just didn't know which one.

Look to beat the living **** out of the early 90's and older F bodies. 99 of 100 are slow as a 3 toed sloth. They sound like a V-6 too, don't let that hollow fart honk sound fool you, it could be a V-8.

Now that I think about it, it's kinda like a Sunbird V-6 with a bad muffler on steroids.

After the 3:55's the kill's will be noted. This car withstood 10 1/4 mi. runs in one night with the 2:73's so better kills in store!!!
