My wife takes out an LS1
Tonight, (Saturday) We went to a friends and I had a few too many pops to get behind the wheel. So the wife gets to drive the Mustang home. We are heading south on Mound road and an LS1 Formula with a couple young guys starts to pace us.
Then I start to coach.....hehe. I say slow down. Put it into second and blip the gas. She does and the Formula takes off. I say... "FLOOR IT!.......rrrrrrrrrrwWRRRRRRAAAWWW!!!!!! SHIFT!!!!!!! she hits third and we are laying waste to the blue F-car. We slow down and they have the R's up, ready for another go. Ready......GO! She floors it in third at around 2500-3000 RPM and we are even with the bird. As soon as the RPM's start to climb....SEE YA!!!! She had to run them four or five times. She got such a kick out of it. Just awesome. Now she says she wants to run it down the track. As she is happy, and does not mind a few bucks going into the 'Stang here and there I am all for it. For kicks I opened the bottle and let her spray second. She almost got to the top of second before she let off. That was a little too much for her. She is soo geeked, and wants to drive all the time now! |

Lol, That is a good story. My girlfriend also wants to take my car down the track, but I dont know. She is used to driving a CRX so I think that the stang might be a LIL' much.

Hey are you planning on making Lapeer next weekend for the opener? I'll be there weather permitting along with a few friends. Oh yeah..I'm building a coupe right now also. The verts driveline will be donated to it. I already had a chromemoly 8 pt put in it and now I just need to get it painted.(shell right now) You stole my color! lol That's what I'm planning on spraying it as. I'd like to see how your car turned out sometime also. I considering going the maaco route.

Rick, I need to get your number again. I got a new phone and all my numbers were lost. I'll make it to Lapeer, but I have no cage yet and it's hit and miss if they will let me run. I usually say "uh....low 13's high 12's" and I slide by.
You have got to see my car now. It looks pretty freakin' sweet. I ran into a guy at a party who knows you. He works at a glass shop and has a Mustang. He told me about your new project. Gimme a shout. 248-752-0314 rob

Sounds like you met kevin. Small world!
My cell is 810-542-4376. Give me a call if you are going to make it this weekend. I'd like to go, but the forcast at this point isn't looking so hot.(will change 5 times by the weekend) As long as it's not raining/snowing I'm going one of the days. I don't expect the car to hook,(cold and the opener) but it could still be fun?@? I'll have to check the car out, I'll be in touch.

Well, your all lucky. My g/f hates my Stang. Although it's stock it moves. And for that fact she really hates it She would rather see mine looking better then going faster? What's up with that? It's almost as best looking as it can be already. But it's odd though, I told her I would teach her how to drive a std before i did any mods. She's really excited about it, and she loves it when I Burn out...Kinda weird huh? granted i'm only 19 and she's turning 18 this month. So she loves the acceleration but hates top end. Heh what kinda girl is that? As my sister once said while almost killing us in my fathers '81 Vette. I love when the engine revs up. Silly girls Oh a question for everyone, We got rid of the '81 when she went to college. And we're buying a new C5 either this month or next whenever we can find one that is in decent shape. You wouldn'/t believe the one we looked at in Rochester on sunday. You guys have any idea what they run in the 1/4 mile? actually....for the 97-02's and the Z06's? any ideas?
1 more thing, in my opinion they're kinda underpowered, but they do haul *****. The one we took out on sunday was a 98 auto, it needed a tune up and some other stuff, including some body work. But lemme tell yeah, even though that tranny was lagging and it wasn't running at full we smoked the tires at 20mph With the traction control letting them spin until 30

Thats cool Exgmguy.
Now your wife is going to want a Mustang of her own. After she gets one, then she might want it to be the faster of the two. Whats even funner than that though, is racing your Girlfreind or wife.

Thanks! She is still talking about it. She has been wanting a convertible for her, but with a 4 month old baby boy that kind of driver is a bit impractical.
I'll let her drive mine every now and again and she will be happy. |

You're a lucky guy! My wife can't even drive standard (& I've tried teaching her!). Well, I guess I'll never have to worry about her stealing the car from me....
