New to Mustang Scene

6green Alright, I'm getting started here on the mustang scene and soon I'll show all yall my soon-to-be mustang. It's a very clean 1993 LX hatchback V8 5.0. So, it aint gonna take the crap from all the ricer burners in this town. It doesnt need anything in it to run or work but it could use a good hood scoop and needs to be supercharged. Any other ideas to show these ricer burners what counts is welcome!

I don't know what is done to the car, but if it is stone stock, AND you don't have emissions in your area, i would install an Off-Road H-pipe, a good cat back exhaust (MAC, flowmaster, ect). You didn't mention whether you were running an auto or or 5-speed. If it's a 5-speed, Installing a set of 3.55 gears in the rear will make a world of difference, probably the biggest bang for your buck. If it's a 5-speed, I highly reccomend an aftermarket shifter such as Hurst or Pro 5.0, so you don't hurt the trans if you get rough with it. I would also remove the air intake silencer in the passenger fender area, make sure it has a good tune up and bump the ign timing to 14 degrees BTDC. You will feel a world of a difference if you perform the simple mods listed above. Let me know how you make out, good luck and welcome to the mustang world. I used to be a big GM fan, until I purchased my first 5.0 back in 1995, an 86 LX. I've been hooked ever since. Take care.

Addendum:

If it's an auto, I would run a 4.10 Gear in it.

I'd definatley do the 373's with a stock motor...theyre a huge difference. my brother has 355 and they are nice when youre putting more horspower and have more top end....my car does not have top end...hence why i suggest 373's

My 5-speed '89 has 4.10's and 10psi. It's fun :) I'd say 4.10's for auto, 3.73 for manual.
