New supercharged grand am

I dusted a new grand am today on the way home, It was faster than i thought it would be, are threy faster this year? Also, do they all say sseII on the side? It also looked wider then the old ones. All in all a pretty nice car.

You sure that wasn't a Bonneville? Grand Am's don't come supercharged.....

Jaegermeister2k 09-29-2003 08:15 PM

They're not all that fast.I never heard of sse2.I know of GT,GT1,SE,SE1,and SE2.The se2 is a 170hp 196tq fwd v6.
The se and se1 are 140hp 150tq v6.And the gt1 and gt are 175hp 205tq.The qeaker ones are 2.2L engines, and the stronger ones are 3.4L.

Powerwise they seem pretty much like the older models.

Jaegermeister2k 09-29-2003 08:18 PM

Oh that's right.The bonneville has a SSEi model.And comes with 240hp and 280 tq.

Could have been a modified '99-'01 Grand Am. GM Performance Parts has a supercharger to fit the 2.4L Twin Cam engine. There is also a turbo package available for the 3.4L V6 (which would include current models, too). Jaegermeister has the specs pegged.

VeNuM 09-30-2003 01:11 PM

Yeah, there's a supercharger for the 3.4 too, but who would put that and SSEi badges on a Grand Am.

Shaun Barcelow 09-30-2003 02:42 PM

I'd put a supercharger on it but I wouldn't badge it. If it's a daily driver, why not make it fun? You won't beat many sports cars, but you might just get the opportunity to embarrass some punk in a Civic with a park bench on the rear decklid and a fart can exhaust.

VeNuM 10-01-2003 10:15 AM

I'd put one on a Grand Am too if I had one. My friend has a 99 GT with one on it and every bolt-on, ported heads. Quick car but I still beat him:) The badges are just plain stupid in my opinion.

Dont ask, those retards on GrandAMGT.com will do about anything just to run in the 14's:D They could only dream to have a supercharged factory GA, they spend all day wishing they would have bought a GTP instead of the slow azz crap they did. Hell, my SHO will tear a supercharged GA in half.

Hi Fellow GAGT.com members!! AMRAAM4, pull the cock from your a$s. I could just as easily say I will race my brothers car (It goes 9.65@138, top that in your friends Skyline). But mine will do just fine here in a few weeks. How about your RX7 vs. my SHO?

Ackbar00 10-05-2003 09:31 AM

Oh yeah, I still go there every now and then just to see what a buch of retard ideas you come up with. Great idea on a stroker kit by the way:rolleyes:

GrandPrix GTP and Bonneville SSEI are the only SC they make, 2004 may see a 4.4L V8 making 280HP in the Bonneville GXP.

Who gives a fucck about Skylines? They are overpriced and underpowerd imports. They cost him what, 55k? WOW, money well spent. And you guys say I have my head up my cars a$s? You GA guys are a bunch of retards.:p
