Default new track time n/a

went 11.97 @ 114 with a 1.64 60 ft time. Kinda proud of that. this was at idalou up here by lubbock Tx. i think 3500 altitude. I think i have a way figured out to bring it on down to high 1.59 or so 60 ft. I should have squeezed it, but i was in a n/a class racing.

Nice, Idalou is a track I will visit a time or 2 this spring myself.

Isnt it concrete all the way down?

Gotta love the cool fall air.

in the last year i added a complete, wolfe racecraft rear suspension. I welded the torque boxes and put in one of their antisway bars. I like the way it pulls the front end up level. i have some cool vid. but i havent figured out how to post it on this site.

I was more wondering what your motor and drive-train combo was.

Congrats That's a nice time for 3500 altitude. Sounds like you've got it running very well. Nice.

Hey! Good times! About time you started to get that 60' down some.

tireburner163,

Well, since John ain't here right now, I'll just say that he's running what it says in his name with some good heads, a fatty carb, and a stick. And of course, a generous squirt of the good stuff when he want it.

John can add more info if he wants.

i have a coast high 347 with a comp extreme energy cam, afr 185cc heads, 750 holley, tko2 trans and 4.10 gears. i saw an anderson 347 go 11.5 with a blower cam and low comp and no blower, so i wonder exactly how good my set up is. I surely am not low comp, or power adder cammed. Its fun though

Nate, i got the 175 pills in my grubby hand, gonna try for a 10

Well, what are you shifting the car at? Ive been hearing alot of stuff about the XE camshafts making alot of valve float due to the fast ramps and the valve springs cannot keep up.

Let me know what the motor has top to bottom.

Don't forget that he's running at close to 3500 feet of altitude. For horsepower calculators, that puts those times closer to 11.40's at 120 corrected for atmosphere. Still some power missing there, but not quite as bad.

I still think dropping that 60' is gonna help.

I will have to agree on the valve float deal. I shift at about 6000. It will rev to 6250, but i feel the beginnings of float there. I am changing to an xr series solid roller cam and changing from 185cc heads to 205 cc. My pistons are flat top, and a victor jr manifold. 750 dbl pumper. The only spacer is the 1/2 inch nos plate. I think the solid cam will help.. At times, on the nitrous, I hit valve float before the rev limiter, which is at 7000. I really thought i'd see 6500 pretty regularly out of that cam.

If you go to 205 heads, i highly recommend a custom grind cam.

I have the 205 heads, race demon 750, vic jr., with a solid roller in the 250+ duration and .665 lift. Operating range on cam is 4400-7200. Let me just tell you, i have no bottom end problems either, it pulls like a bich

There isn't any waste in that engine bay. I called a company about a custom grind. Motor machine and supply has a cam selection program. They spec'ed me a cam in the 650 lift and advertised duration of 278 intake and 295 exhaust. A 114 lobe centerline installed 7 degree advanced. I was a little worried about the operating range, Have you had your car dynoed??
