Thumbs down

People are bad judges of a car's acceleration. Example:

I used to own a Fiero. It would put down a few feet of rubber when you dumped the clutch, and it could chirp second somtimes. I thought it was fast (I even remember bragging about how it could go 106mph...2mph faster than my friend's Monte Carlo )

When I got my Explorer, I thought it had great pickup. It was two tons of steel powered by a 150hp V6. Oh, it ran "12s", but it only got to 60mph by then.

Then, when I drove my dad's minivan ('91 Voyager with the 3.0), I though it hauled.

When I got my Oldsmobile (240 ft-lbs at 1800rpm), I thought it hauled even harder.

Now I have my 'Stang, which would probably only turn a 14.5 if it wasn't half-gutted. When I mash it in second gear, it feels like it's going to run out from under me. It sure doesn't feel like a 14.5 car. I can't even imagine what a 12-second car feels like, let alone a 10-second.

I'm guessing it's 10.5 in the 1/8th.
