Question Pony Wheels

Sorry if this has been asked a thousand times, but...

I'd like to put 16" Pony wheels on my '87 LX. I remember recently reading (but I can't remember where) that tire size is limited to avoid fender rubbing. It appears that the fenders were altered in later years.

Can someone tell me what the stock tire size was on the 90's Mustangs with the Pony wheels and if that size will work on a slightly lowered '87? Any other advice?

As always, thanks for your info.

Paul

Stock tires size was 225/55R16 I believe you shouldn't have problems with that tire. I have heard of people with pony rims on 90s stangs using 245/50R16 in the front and no rubbing. Good luck.

Cool

I've got P245/50/R16 on pony rims on my 90 and it rubs a bit when i make a full left turn. Not on the fenders but on the frame. Ohter than that there ok. Nothing to worry about.
