Beat a Z06 Today

Man, I was out today in my Dad's Toyota Avalon. Those things usually arent that fast, but my dad's was a freak from the factory. Toyota accidentally put a 351 Engine in it, and then accidentally put a turbo on running 24# boost. It runs HARD. Anyway, I pull up next to a 98 Z06 and he notices my fast looking Toyota, so he revs at me. Man, by the end of 1st Gear in my Automatic, it was over. I had him by a good 2-3 lengths by 30. We ran up to about 198mph, and I had him by approximately 36 car lengths. I thought those things were faster than that. I mean, Ive raced 9 other Z06's this week, and they are all pretty easy to take. Ive run the Avalon at the track, and it pulled a 9.65 at 149, so its pretty quick. Sometimes Toyota just builds freaks, I guess. If you guys dont believe me, well, whatever, cause my friend can vouch that my Toyota is SICK!!

Man, I had something like that happen to me years ago when I was forced to drive a Metro. My dad gave it to me 'cause I wrecked my other car, some lady hit me. He had dropped in an aluminium block 427, with a roots blower on top. Man, that thing would fly! Anyway, I took it out the day I got it, and just so happened to line up next to a Lamborgini Diablo. Well, I thought about not running him, but then again, how many times do youget to run one of those? So, I throw him a rev, and he does in return. The light goes green and we were off. By the end of second gear, I was way out front, by about 10-15 cars. He pulled over and asked if I wanted to drive his car, and ofcourse I said yes.
Oh wait......no that was a dream I had, nevermind! I lost touch with reality there for a minute!

Just be glad you weren't runnin a Cobra. I know they're only rated at about 14 sec in the 1/4 mi, but that's a lie. Really they do it in about 3 secs (give or take). The Cobra would've had ya by 56.345 lengths at 30 mph and would've takin ya up past 234.95643 mph. Hell, I've seen a Cobra with a few simple meaningless bolt ons beat a Top fuel dragster.

StoplightWarrior 03-15-2001 02:20 AM

So youre saying that you realize the idea of a Cobra beating a Top Fuel Dragster is about as stupid as a Solara beating a Cobra???? Good, you finally got it. So you were kidding the whole time about the Toyota thing. That's cool. What kind of car do you really have?

Man, I'll tell you, those Cobra's are the supermen of the auto industry. I'm glad I bought one, now I can run a Top Fuel dragster. Woohoo!
What would I do without an overactive imagination?
Oh, yeah.....a nice start would be to live in the real world, and realize that a Solara has a worse chance than a snowball in hell of beating a Mustang GT or Cobra. For that matter, Pinto's should be on 2MFF's list of fantasy cars he shouldn't race.

Almost 200 mph huh? Well that is quite impressive. Well that car should be worth some money. Sounds like a one of a kind. Probably about 500 horsepower. I mean man you are getting near a McLaren's speed, only about 30 more mph to go. And 36 car lengths, well what is that about 700 feet. Man put some pics of that bad boy on here.

you guys are the 5hit!! But I still have you all beat. I pulled up to a stop light and what pulls up next to me, none other than a f-16 marine fighter jet! Then all the sudden the light turned green and it was on! I had him by 12.761 jet-links when he turned on the afterburners and cut the distance in half. SO i turned on the nitrous and was way ahead again 200mph, 210! he was closing i fast when all the sudden he became airborne! I consider that to be an automatic forfeit and win for me. Man, get a front spoiler on that thing!

Nevermind the shuttle, what do you have in that tri-cycle??? I hear gutting your cat and putting a shift kit on does wonders for those things.... http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/smile.gif

I heard that if you put a K&N on a tricycle it boost the power up to 100,000rear wheel!! Man I gotta get one of those!!!
Space shuttle, ha ha ha!! that was good!

Fostang 03-15-2001 04:46 PM

I am laughing my @ss off. On that trycle thing. I've heard that if you put 100 inch drag slicks on the rear, cold air induction, a tank of red bull, running 12 hundred octane gas, an american flag, oh yes and dont forget your helmet... you can reach mars in 2.3 seconds.

I have a Type R Bigwheel, V-Spec. I think I can take that tricycle.

Stoplightwarrior - No, what I'm saying is that the 14 sec mustang has a magic quality the make it impervious to being out performed by anything. My post was REAL. I'm sorry I was unaware of the sanctity of the Cobra. If you read my post it was not intended as a "ha ha look what I did", but as a shocker. I don't keep up with the latest specs on the new 14 sec breed of car (not being insulting, just stating my case - it is about a 14sec car). If you read the post I say "I can't explain it" and "I thought they were faster than that". It wasn't until OTHER people READ IT WRONG that it got nasty. Fact is, I beat it, it was on the gas hard, etc. But enough of that cause Kev will send the Storm troopers after me.

red82gt 03-15-2001 05:49 PM

You guys are pathetic liars! Here's the biggest lie ever told though...
two women were in a room for 2 hours, not a single word was spoken

try and beat that one!

PGkelly 03-16-2001 01:18 PM

yeah, i got one of those freak toyota camrys too.....mine is a silver '91 DX w/a sunroof, a 7 spd. tranny from a ferrari F1 racecar, a 54 in. clutch, a roots blown 595 ci qohc (quad over head cam) V10, 90 inch rear tires. oh, yeah and an 800 shot nitrous. to hold that engine, the chassis had to be stretched, and a new front end had to be designed. my most recent race was against an SR-71 blackbird i saw on I-95.....i had to shut it down at Mach 2 because there was traffic up ahead (up ahead meaning we were in VA and there was a stoplight in NJ). i had him by 93.768 car lengths. I also needed new brakes after that. my current 18 piston aircraft brakes had crushed the rotors and turned them into 900 degree dust.

If it ain't broke, make it go faster
