Race: 97 Cobra vs 2000 GT
One of my wifes co-workers has a 2000 GT. Tomorrow we are going to head to the track and line 'em up and let 'em run. His GT is stock, so I'm told, so it should be a good race. I'll probably need those 30 extra horses b/c my 'vert is heavier. We are just running an 1/8 mile, so I am hoping the 7,000 RPM shifts will edge him out.
My guess is it will probably come down to the driver. Got enough for the 3.73's or 4.10's. I'm still saving for that Vortec. he he he. I'll let you all know what happens!!! ------------------ 1997 Black Cobra Convertible. #2788 of 3088 Mostly Stock - Vortech Anyone? 1988 5.0 LX Convertible -Work Car...Few Mods. |
hey do let us know i have a bone stock 00gt coupe with aod & would like to know what it is about , i have not put on the track , just been doing a little highway racing, thank's

Maybe you should try a 4.30:1 gearset. Remember a convertible is very heavy and the 4.6 Cobra motor isn't a torque-monster. Wind that baby to 7500 rpms.
