Breakdown on the Woodward cruise!

I got to the cruise about 7 am this morning and you could actually cruise around a little without sitting still in hours of traffic. A pretty wicked caged, hangin' fuel pump Fox coupe wants to run me.
We get to the underpass at I-696, and go from a 2nd gear roll. As soon as I wind out 2nd, my car falls on it's face, stalls, and won't start back up. I pull off to the side, and pop the hood.
My power steering pump was locked up and leaking like a stuck pig.
I got a quick ride home from my dad in his Vette, grabbed some tools and a spare pump I had, and did the swap on Woodward. Up and running like new. At first I thought the motor had seized, but luckily it was just the pump.

That was the first time my Mustang has EVER broken down on me. :(

That sucks, but at least it wasn't anything major. Fixed on the side of the road! Reminds me of when a friend broke down(Chris) 2 hours away. S/C car and popped a gasket coming down I-75. We changed head gaskets in the BK parking lot in Standish. LOL Someone asked us if we needed a jump, I guess they didn't see the heads blower and intake sitting next to the car!

You guys changed a head gasket in a BK parking lot?

If that were me, someone would be bringing a trailer up to Standish! I would be worried about the quality of work, not to mention surfacing the heads.
Was he hot doggin' on the E-way or something?

BTW, My ET Streets were more worn than I thought. I have big patches of threads showing on them. And I have not driven anywhere since that day at Ubly.

LOL yeah we changed them in the parking lot. I stopped and pick up all the parts and gaskets and met him up there. He had it all a part when I got there. It wasn't much different then working in your garage really. That car was always popping gaskets it wasn't a big deal.(more comical then anything else) Expected actually! They were iron heads so they took a pretty good beating without getting messed up.
