I was riding shot gun with Lizard King tonight, and pulled up on a new Pontiac GTP.
Cool guy, we chit chatted, then light went green. We pulled like a freight train t'ill 120, then shut 'er down. It was sweeet http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/biggrin.gif |
Stop with your bull crap stories. Do you think we are realy going to believe these stories? Come on man http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/tongue.gif

Cool kill. It's about time I hear about some GTP kills over here. When I surf over to www.gp-owners.com there are TONS of stories about GTP's smoking Stangs.
After reading many posts and learning a decent amount about the GTP, I have come to the conclusion that with a few simple mods these cars can become pretty strong. Basically, a smaller pulley (3.4" seems to be popular), exhaust, CAI, etc. and they usually go high 13's at about 98 or 99mph. These cars really have the sleeper look going - grocery getter, 4 door type, etc. E ------------------ 1991 5.0 LX Coupe - 38,000 miles 13.17 @ 106.14 mph w/ 2.138 60' |
One of the locals here has one that runs 13.1, and decided he needed more speed... so he added Nitrous this year!!!!!
DAMN!!!! |
I once lined up agaunst a Buick Regal with that blown V-6. He had the small pulley and exhaust I think. He ran a 14.7 and lost to me by at least 6-8 lengths. I never worried about those cars again. I'm sure that there are fast ones out there somewhere.

Yup it sure is fast! I raced him a few times last year and took him pretty easy. I would pull about 3 cars on him by the middle of 3rd gear. I am very interested in seeing him run at the track with the N20. ------------------ SHP RACING http://www.shpracing.com/images/shp_logo.gif http://www.shpracing.com/images/cars.gif www.SHPRACING.com Hang on for the ride of your life! |
NTMID8 ... what are your track times????????

There is an older 4-door Lumina in Wichita that has a GTP motor in it. He has a different pulley and NOS. It runs high 12's/very low 13's all day. Gotta watch out for them sleepers!

Yup,
Watch out for those blown 3.8's. I have a 2000 Regal GS, and it is substantially quicker than my 95 Ragtop was, especially in the 0-70mph range. I also get 24-25mpg. I still miss my Stang http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/frown.gif. But my twin's car seats fit in the back of the Regal. http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/smile.gif Take Care, Dave |
