Rev! You saw an Auto 99GT+ run 14.2...
Quote:
Never the less, that car with a Manual Tranny would be running high 13s right? Are we agreed? We may soon find the light!!!! ------------------ http://members.mustangworks.com/liza...rdKing_sig.gif 13.66 @ 100.3MPH, Stock (except for K&N Filter) • Quartermile run |
Yes LK, I agree that SOME '99-01 GT's do run in the 13's. I also know that some Cobras run in the low 14's. I think there often is a .5 second difference in what apparently identical cars sometimes will do on the same track. Can be due to driver ability, but doesn't have to be. We see the light.

SloAod- Do you have to put one of your sweet little comments into about every thread? Seriously, we know that your car is a freak and runs 13.4s basically stock. And that's amazing. But come on, it's getting a little irritating now. I know I'm not the only one feeling this way. Other people have said stuff to you about your cocky comments, Skyman being one of them right off the top of my head. I'm not trying to be a jerk or anything, it's just getting a little old. You may be a great driver, you may be a great engine tuner, but your car is a freak, and that has nothing to do with you. So I'd say that's about enough. Thanks, man.

bennyboy- i said i love my aod b/c lizard (like most) apparently thinks that 5 spd are so much faster and better
Lizard- a 91 cobra huh? i used to have a 51 mustang too.... anyway what kind of proof do you want? the car ran 13.42 in Nov. and Dec. of 1999, since then i havent done anything to it. but if you want witnesses or timeslips i can have them for you, how about you pay for a lie detector test? and if i'm not telling the truth i'll give you my car, let your friend call b/s, he has a 91 cobra... ------------------ My slo aod- 3.73s, pullies, flowmasters, h-pipe, bbk cold air, and 13.42 in the 1/4 @ 103 mph |
BTW all 86-92 mustang GT's were cobras in Canada.

I hate to throw gas on the fire, but I thought 13.42 was REALLY low for the mods SloAod has too. My firends and all think its pretty much BS. We came to the conclusion that the track was downhill and had a Hurricane (get alot of those here in NC) force winds pushing him. http://cwm.ragesofsanity.com/otn/lau...elrotflmao.gif

i dont think Houston raceway park is downhill (pretty flat here) or there are hurricanes in nov and dec... i dont know though

I heard you tuned your engine??... can you explain? Is your modification list really limited to what is on your sig? (BTW, I wouldn't say basicaly stock... I would say lightly moded.)
The truth about AODs is they suffer from a heavy disadvantage. In the 99+ GT I have observed the difference to be around .4-.6 on the quartermile. |
The times do sound low, but so did Lizard Kings times. All I'm saying is that I'm not calling B/S because I haven't seen him run.

With all talk i've seen I will call BS.
Not on the times, I've seen 13.4's on less motor, kodos to you. BUT 103MPH is not pulleys and gears. AOD converts trap at 92-94mph best, how the hell are you getting to 103mph. Please no disrespect, i take it you get this all the time but seriously 9-11mph on your mods.......lets see some proof, a dyno or slip. |
Rumor has it he has a howling monkey under that hood. In my book that qualifies as forced induction. What do you think guys?

A monkey eh? (I don't get it.)
I would personally be quite satisfied with a video of that stang running 13.4. Is there anyone on this board or any other board that vouches for you. |
I kind of can believe the time cause I got my @ss handed to me by a near stock auto notch back last Friday. He had headers H-pipe and a mass air conversion kit with some kind of chip. I think he ran a really low 14 @around 95mph. If this guy were in Houston he could maybe pull a mid 13.
Go ahead and say it I know what your thinkin "runnin a 15.2 you get your @ss handed to you all the time" I'll get there man one paycheck at a time. http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/biggrin.gif ------------------ 88 mustang gt convertible bored to 306 BBk equal length headers mac cold air fender kit cowl hood nitto drag radials ford racing clutch flow masters h-pipe 160* thermostat 16 degrees of timing electric fan off 94' t-bird jacobs electronics cap and wires |
Not too sure Houston is always that big of an advantage. Sure it's near sea level, but it's damned hot here most of the time, and humidity is almost always high. On the plus side, the track (HRP) is usually prepared well with lots of VHT and lots of sticky rubber layed down at the line.

the only member i'm sure i know is faststang90, he hardly comes in here
i have more mods than my sig shows, most bolt ons. but stock unported heads, unported stock intake, stock cam, stock mass air and stock headers. my aod is no where near stock, it has everything but the wide ratio kit the 103 mph is real, with 1.95 60 ft times, 8.62 1/8th @ 81.86 mph oh the howling monkey have been on strike for about 6 years. ------------------ My slo aod- 3.73s, pullies, flowmasters, h-pipe, bbk cold air, and 13.42 in the 1/4 @ 103 mph |
My car has done a best et of 13.95 and a best trap of 100.35, not on the same run. If AOD's car can do the 13.42, I wouldn't doubt the 103.
Rev ------------------ '66 Coupe, 306, 300 HP, C-4, 13.97 e.t., 100.3 mph 1/4 mi. |
I'm not gonna call anyone a liar... All I know is that I had a stock engine with an A-trim@5-6#s, 3.73s, full mac exhaust, 2400 stall, shift kit, msd, tune up and K&N.. I ran 13.8s at around 101-102mph on bald t/a radials. Realize, this is in a heavy vert(3700lbs). You may have lightened your car, retarded your cam, rebuilt the short block or something. My car still had the street suspension, swaybar and all attached. Who knows, maybe you did something we don't know about. 13.42@103mph makes me wonder how you did it...
I will say that there was a 94 cobra at the track tonight with a base powerdyne(I think) running 6 psi that was running times simuliar to yours. I think that is why you have the skeptics here, let us in on the your secret. ------------------ Rick My 89lx(updated 2/21/2001) My 97 Cobra |
