LT-1 CHICKENS LEARN ABOUT LIGHTNING!
A friend of mine just bought a new lightning and there was a couple of lt1 ta's(one was stock the other had small mods) screwing around with him in town so they went out to the strip. We'll you know the rest he destroyed them http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/smile.gifThey had no clue what had just hit them they had no idea what it was it was great.Wow that is one hell of a truck

I really think the Lightning may be my favorite car right now. That truck is so badass! What else can out drag a Z28 in a straight line, handle with a sports car in the curves, and haul a refigerator?!?! Good stuff!

I love Lightnings....Hell they made it to the 13 fastest cars list that popular mechanics had. That thing did a 13.62 http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/eek.gif.
http://popularmechanics.com/popmech/...AUCTBM.html#13 But dude, I think too many people read that article and thought they could get theirs to do mid 13s too, so they would go to Moroso. I've seen more lightnings at Moroso then I've seen "LS1-SS". The fastest guy I saw in a lightning ran against me in the other lane. He ran like a 14.05 after icing his intake for like 30 minutes. The other guy I saw ran ran a 14.3 and was pissed as hell. And there was this one guy running a 15.xx (can't remember what)... These guys are all pissed off like it's a disgrace that they are running low 14s and crap. BRO...IT'S A 4000+lbs TRUCK!!!... It's not a sports car...those are great times for the dimensions... That doesn't mean they can't run faster though. I have a video clip of one running 11s http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/biggrin.gif but the great thing about them is that they are very fast look great and are very usefull OUT OF THE BOX no mods needed. Why mess with that. GT-HUNTER Dang...I thought I was the only one who had that article....how about that WS-6???
My bud has a 99 Lightning. He took me for a cruise and we ran door to door with a 99 Conv Vette....not too shabby. ------------------ Dustin Saleenized 89 GT,428 rwhp,TFS Street Heat Intake,TFS TW Heads,TFS #2 cam,BD-11A 9 psi,FRPP 1.6 rr's,BBK 70mm TB,Pro-M 75mm Bullet,MSD 6BTM, FMS 9mm wires,BBK longtubes,BBK Short H-pipe,American Thunder cat back,3.55's 12.3@119 http://www.mustangworks.com/rides/pictures/Listing1549-slot1.jpg |
Saleen...yeah I know what you mean about the WS.6 on the article...It ran a 13.15 out of the box...but even though I'm an Fbody guy...I'm also for "comparing apples to apples and oranges to oranges"....
Check out what they say in the article about the WS6...it's something like the 1LE package that basically has no leather, no power anything making it very light and THAT is what gave it the advantage. Read an article in MM&FF, the new lightning with 380hp and 450ft. lbs ran a 13.31 @104mph on street tires.

I think those new Lightnings are great and just over 30k isn't that bad of a price for something that can blow the doors off most cars on the road. Only thing I can't stand are those Ricer tail lights they put on the back. Put some real tails on there and I think it would free up a good 50 horsepower lol...have to disinfect it
