raced 03 cobra tonight
 

sup guys.. finally got to race an 03 and god damn are they quick haha. we went from a second gear roll twice an both times i was at his back bumper. im runnin a 90 saleen clone.

347- Bcam, performer RPM air-gap intake, gt40 aluminum heads, pullies, MSD, equal length shorties, crane rockers, an them damn lil 3.27's :mad: 4.10's on the way.

all in all i satisfied i was that close to him being i still have the 3.27's, with the 4.10's i think i coulda been even with him.

best ET: 13.2 107mph. 2.20 60's

Those 03 cobras are killer from a roll. Those 3.27's are killing you, the results might be different if you get gears.

Its not your gears ma, your mph should be a lot higher than 107 w/ a 347 stroker. Time to start workin out that motor.

the motors fine. wanna race? lol. i suspect ill gain bout 3 mph from gears an a bigger stroked doesnt mean ur gonna automaticly go 120 mph.. its all on how ur cars set up.

It should still go more than 107MPH. Look at my sig, I trap 109.22 with the stock cam and short block!

i just dont get y u are so hungup on trap speed. like at the beginnin u blamed my trap speed for y i lost to an 03 cobra. an that cuz im not runnin like 120 mph theres sumtin horribly wrong with the motor.. could it be cuz 03's are fast as all hell that coulda been it??

Im not tryin to pick fights either, trap speed is directly connected to HP. Your car should be making more horsepower than what a 107mph equals. Not tryin to diss your car, just saying that I think you got some more potential in it.

I highly doubt you have 450-470. Probably more like 360-400 at the flywheel i would guess.

you really think it is that much? A friend told me about 300 is all. any other opinions that know people with my set up?

fiveOguy20: what was the elevation of the track you ran at and what was the temp. etc, when you got the 107mph? I personally gained 6mph going from lacr(2700ft) to c/bad (200ft). a 13.2 is right about where 03 cobras are running stock, some faster/some slower. the best i got stock, heat of summer was 13.5- 106mph. 100deg+ outside. only time i had it to the track stock. anyways nice death;) take it easy!

Hey guys...long time since I have been on. I have to get a few words in here. My buddy was attacked by someone who stuck his own foot in his mouth...time for fun :D Ok. You said that it is all in the setup...apparently you don't know how to set a car up. I had a friend with a 347 that had the same problems. I ran mine on the dyno before I put my blower on it and made 380 rwhp. Your mph is indicating around 275-285 rwhp...gears do have something to do with your times though. Here is what I see wrong.

Bcam in a 347? Not the best choice
GT-40's in a 347? Bad choice too...ok if ported really good
Good Intake
What fuel system?
What exhaust?

You should run around 113-115 with a properly set up stroker. I say with your heads, cam, and exhaust you MIGHT get 110-111 max. They say you theoredically get 1 hp per cube if the block were all that was changed. So I say MAX you should make 330 rwhp with that combo. My buddy had a 347 with the Holley SystemMax2(better Intake, crappy cam, similar heads) and ran 107-108's with 3.73's. His car was jacked though.
