Raced friends 501 CI caddy powered 79 TA
Well i finally got to race my friends 79 Trans Am. He put a 501 cubic inch caddy motor in it. The motor is all stock but the intake, carb and headders. I only beat him by a car. If i had put my drag radials on i would have beaten him by maybe a couple of cars. His car is only 3000 pounds with that big motor in it!!!!!!!!!!!! I am suprized that it ran that good. Just goes to show you what cubic inches can do. The only problem he has with it is he cant turn it past 4800. I cant wait to see what it will do with a cam and heads.

No, still all motor. Im getting rid of my wet kit though. Im gonna get one of those "bottle in bag" kits. I have seen some people with those running great. What i like the best about them is you dont have to mess with timing or fuel pressure all the time.

Yea Tony G. recommends those at hp performance and there are a lot of people useing them with great results.
Troy at mmjax has it on his car and just dynoed it and on the 75 hp jet size he picked up 64rwhp. They said it would have been even more but his OD kept coming on at 70mph before he could get it to hit peak power. I do not know why they had to do the run in 3rd, something about the auto trans; so he is going to get a chip and try it again.
