Raced an SS up 130

I was on the highway today when I notice a red Camaro up ahead. I catch up to it and notice it has one of those funky exhausts with the two pipes on one side. Then I remember that's what some of the SS's had. Sure enough it was an SS when I got next to it. We played around a little on the highway, but there were too many cars to do anything. He pulled of on to a country road and I followed him. He just cruised along at about 30 for a while and then he gunned it. I gunned it after I realized he had finally took off. I stayed pretty much dead even with him up to about 75 or 80 I shifted into third and then he pulled me a little up to a 100 and then I stayed even with him to 120 and was pulling on him up to 130 but I think he was letting off. He probably would have beat me by a car length if we were side by side.

After grabbing my shirt which was flying around the inside of my car since my top was down( I can't believe it didn't blow out of the car) I looked at my gauges and my temperature was way up there. It was at the second highest mark about 240 or 250 degrees. It's never been over 200 or 210 at the most before. I don't know if my new pulley has anything to do with that or not, I know A-trims are less efficient and blow hotter air in than other blowers. It was alo 99 degrees outside when this happened and I had been driving for about 1/2 an hour.

His Camaro had the stock looking mufflers, but it did not sound stock when he took off. It really growled and sounded like he had some mods in the exhaust.

Nice run.... wonder what would have happened from a stop. Even the stock SS exhaust sounds pretty mean(IMO).

Yea, with that blower you may need better radiator, good kill, he would have to have more than a lid and cuttout to handle an a-trimmed 5 oh, just the other day a black softop c-5 got in front of me, we started playing around up between 90-110, when we saw a clearing on the highway, he started walking away, i made chase, surprisingly he couldnt shake me off his rear too bad, the almighty ls1 isnt supercar topend:rolleyes: we shut down when we came up on traffic tha tlooked stopped at 100mph:eek:
