racing and automatic

I have a 97 gt convertible that is an automatic. Any advice on racing an automatic would be appreciated. More along the lines of driving tips as opposed to different chips and mods. Thanks.

Good question... when launching powerbrake a little(hold the brake and bring the rpms up until right before it spins then let off the brake and mash the gas). Not sure about the 97 but with my car the 1d1 shuffle works well. Start out with the car in 1 when you want to shift into 2nd move the shifter up to D then pull it back to 1 to hold 2nd once it shifts, then move the shifter back up to D to go to 3rd.
