Default Ricers Invade Ford Nite at the Track....Bad Idea

Well, last nite at our local track we had Ford nite,Must have been 50-60 Mustangs along with other various models and then.....the ricers started pulling in... They immediately started running off at the mouth.....bad idea,This one dude in an Acura strts extolling the virtues of his "10 second car" and how much money he had in it,our track is 1/8th mile and he was SOOO full of it. My bud Rick I race with took him on (his ride runs mid 7's) and beat him hard!!!,well this pissed off all the other ricers and here they come to the line,we must have had 20 Stangs in one line and the same amount of ricers in the other. The Stangs went perfect down the line beating every rice head that pulled up, My 89 ran a 7.71 and absoulutely KILLED this Honda all tricked out with NOS. I was pure motor ,he ran a 9.22. All this took about an hour and they pretty much shut up and watched after that. The Moral is..never throw Rice at a herd of Ponies.....they stampede......LOL what a fun nite over 20 confirmed kills in an hour.

Sounds kind of like lemmings all following each other off a cliff....

Quite appropriate I think...

So I can only assume he meant low 10's in the 1/8th.

Some people are too stupid for their own good.

I made a showing like that 2 days before I sold the car... Domestic vs. Import... It was more like Ford vs. Chevy, and the Imports were drug behind as parachutes.. The only decent races I saw the whole day were the 01TA w/NOS against the Blown 5.0, the TA lost by thousands of a second I believe.. it was very close.. I watched an import (don't know what kind, couldn't tell) lose to a Chevy Malibu 4 door.....??? how insulting.. hell, there was a civic that lost to a Pontiac GrandAm (not the GTP).. Even with my car not running right, I only lost to the Blown 5.0, I beat all the other imports I raced... Seemed kinda odd, you'd figure that I wouldn't have stood a chance since I was NA and they were supercharged and/or on the pill... oh well

No Replacement for Displacement I guess.

Most younger import owners wouldn't know a fast car if it ran over their foot.

Exclamation Rice On with "Attitude"........

I wish I could say that about track time down here! These Turbo'ed imports can be tough! Not the hondus, but these eclipse turbos and the WRXs are hard to get by with out some good tune and practice...I mean the "Lighter" mod Mustangs , mind you...Must us these imports will run in the mid-hight 13s at just over 100 MPH Thats with a few boost "tricks"I've been watching them.I'm working on my car,and I really see these guys as the ones that will give me the most problems(If,for no other reason, the shear number of them ,they will wear you down, one after the other, then if you miss a gear, they'll all say that you lost!)

Yeah those WRX's are quick cars. DSM's (eclipses, talons etc.) can be made quick too. The thing about DSM's though is that they arent very reliable.

Default WRXs & Talons

The thing that "Gets" me is HOW slow some of the 'stangs in my area are. I think that some poeple don't do enough home work on there parts before they buy.The other thing is,when some poeple go to a Hi-Po shop , they are at the mercey of the vendors. And they are known to take full advatage of them
I hate when people sell stuff, just so they can #1 Make a profit(Weather or not the part is needed)#2 They have "Too many" of a part,or got a "Good deal" on these parts(So they bought 4,000 of them)so,no matter what you "Really" need, you need one of there "Good deal" parts.....

I'm probably going to get a little heat for this next comment....but oh well:

There are far more fast Hondas out there than any other import. The thing is that Hondas pretty much out number all of the cars on the road and that the majority of those cars out there have bolt ons and give the other guys a bad name. I'm not saying that it's easier to make a Honda fast(although that CAN be argued too with the gigantic aftermarket for the B-series motors), but for the most part, fast Hondas out number other fast import makes.

Default HONDUUUUUUUS(BUZZ<BUZZ<FART<FART

Must of the Hondas are not fast.I've seen one that was(Street driven)It had,of all things,a turbo .It ran a 14 flat, but the mile per hour was 109.Even when these hondassssss run in the low 14s,they have Loooooooow trap speeds for the ET.I'm more intrested in MPH then ET.Thing is that a good 60 ft & 1/8 mile can only do so much, you still wind up with a 95 MPH Trap speed.Plus, they sound like crap!

too.bad ...I'd of liked to have been there...no match for anything in the 7's...but i should beable to manage an 8.9** in my all motor acura...that might of been competitive with a couple of the guys out there and let the import guys maintain a small shred of dignity

1/8th mile track is what they were talking about ...95 no....thats way to high like 80 mph an 8.9 1/8th at 95 would mean some really bad traction...or a delayed 200 shot
