Yep, you're slipping the clutch bean. It's not really hard on the clutch unless you are doing it all the time or from higher rpms.
The S2000's clutch is slipped slowly from about 5,000rpm. Extremely hard on the disc. Plus the flywheel will undoubtedly overheat under that situations creating glazed over "hot spots" which will reduce the clutch's future gripping ability. Every one of those slips takes hundreds of miles (if not thousands) off the disc life.
Slipping it lightly out from 2500 isn't that bad.
When Lizard says he's dropping the clutch at 1,500, it just means he revs to 1,500 and abruptly pulls his foot all the way off.
Dumping is hard on the drivetrain, slipping is hard on the clutch. Dumping is probably the more consistant method on the same track, slipping is probably more consistant on different surfaces because you have more control to keep the wheels from spinning.
