I wouldnt worry about it. If you win, great, if you lose, do it gracefully. Be zen about it.
(Sorry, I'm in a philosophical mood,lol) If he's a buddy of yours, you shoudnt sweat it, and do it as friendly competiton.
If he beats you, you will just have to "raise your bar" and come back for a rematch later.
