Default Crappy day at the track

I went to carlsbad today, and it was definatly the worst time I've had at the track.

Forgot the slicks, being in a hurry in the morning.

When I got there the N20 wasnt working (again). Found out later it was just a loose wire.

The track was horrible! Ive never been on a more slippery surface in my life.

My friend ran first with a 89 coupe with TFS heads/RPM intake. And went 14.9@105.5 on a 2.8 60'. He was just spinning and spinning.

I went next and went 14.3@@106.5 on a 2.6 60' I couldnt even touch the gas till 3rd, when I still spun em and had my rearend fishtailing all over.

Ive never even been on a road that is that slippery, unless its wet!

After that my cousin went in his 68 mustang with GT40Y heads, and went 14.7@99.5 on a 2.6 60'.

I didn't even want to go again, so we all headed home. Quite a waste of $22 and a day.

Those 60 foot times are crazy, track must of been REALLY slick. Well...good luck next time, and don't forget your slicks!

That sucks Skyler....Better luck next time and do not forget to bring your slicks. How else do you expect to put all that hp you have to the ground. Street tires do no good if you have all that power.

Yeah, Ive never been on a surface that slippery before that wasn't wet.

I hit about 50% throttle off the line and I LITERALLY JUST SAT THERE SPINNING ON THE LINE!

It was horrible.

Not to mention 3.5hrs drive each way speeding.

I guess you have to get the right day. The last time I was there I got a 2.2 60ft with a worn out trac loc powered by one bald drag radial. Go figure. Ended up with a 14.00 at a shitty 102mph.

You would think your car would get a better 60ft with your drag suspension. I want to head back there in february. I hope to have my drag suspension and 100 shot installed by then.

Aside from the fact that the track is slippery anyway, the cold weather isn't helping out either...(cold track is as bad as water!)

when it warms up a little I will be heading that way again...

They never prep that track. I wish somebody would buy it from them, and take care of it. The ditch you have to cross onto the dirt road to get in is horrible, everybody scrapes on it, and that's just one example. For the price you pay, I think they should take care of that place.

Damn Skyman i didn't know you lived 3 1/2 hrs from Carlsbad! i guess i shouldn't complain about living 45 minutes from it. Seriously though Ive never been there but my friends say its worse than the 1/8 at Qualcomm Stadium. And thats a parking lot with a tree a cones I wish we could get some more tracks or at least properly takin care of ones around here. All the people complaning about the illegal street racing "problem" too.

Hey MidNite, we're not too far from each other. Only twenty some miles from here to Diego. How's the street scene there? Ever to to Balboa?

There is alot to be said about preparing the day before for the track. A track here is slippery like that sometimes. One day my best on 275 drag radials was a 12.5 @ 122.

In my opinion, any day at the track in December is worth it!!!!!
