Surprizing results from Thursday..
Well, I took the Focus to the track again, and I ended up being 2 for 4. I kept turning consistant 10.8's, which would have been lower, but I had 1/2 a tank of gas in the car, and last time I had 1/8 of a tank. So there. My first run was against a 94-95 Cobra, and well, you know the result. Second run was against a 88-93 GT Convert. I can only imagine that he fell asleep at the line, cause I whooped him by half a second. I ran a 10.9 and he ran a 11.46. I beat a 'Stang!!!
The next run was with a Ranger 4x4, so that wasn't any compitition. My last run was with a Supra TT. Umm.....just to be nice...it was his first time at the track, and he had no idea what he was doing. He almost hit me going to the waterbox, but we straightened him out. He ran a 9.0 to my 10.8. Not bad for a Stock Focus huh? I miss the Cobra. Later. ------------------ The Black Mamba 11.2@124 1994 Cobra '00 Focus ZTS- K&N drop in. 10.66@66mph 1/8mile |

I am really not trying to be an ****** or anything but damn near any car will run a mid 16. There is a bone stock 4 door Grand am
automatic that runs 16.20's in the quarter here at the local track. Last friday there was a ragged out prelude running a 16.1 and that is in crappy air. I can beat two or thre of the stangs here with my truck that runs 16.60's@84 ------------------ 88 mustang gt convertible bored to 306 BBk equal length headers mac cold air fender kit cowl hood nitto drag radials ford racing clutch flow masters h-pipe 160* thermostat 16 degrees of timing electric fan off 94' t-bird jacobs electronics cap and wires. I know it's a focus, and just about everybody can get a 16.xx, but come on, it's a Ford. Where's the loyalty?
I feel so unloved right now. |

I love the Focus -- I don't care how unreliable they are or what anyone says. Hatchback economy cars rock!!
I have an '89 Tracer and an '89 Sundance -- they are both hatchbacks and I love 'em!! In 4-8 years you will see 600hp street/strip Foci. ------------------ Jeff Kane 1990 LX Mustang Coupe |
