Smile Back from Carlsbad

Had a fun day today! Won 4 lost 2 Consistant high 13's but the car handled the 150 shot perfectly. Only problem was traction Had horrible 60 ft times (2.3 every time) But with some drag radials I am looking at low 13's

2 races that I won were awesome though. Raced a blown cobra running 12lbs of boost...he had the faster car but he was sleeping at the light and I cut a .565 and I beat him by .105
Other was a nitrous inj. Civic he ran a 13.3 but I beat him at the light (cut a .620) and won by .054!! lol

When my bottle ran dry, I still beat a '00 stang by 3 tenths!

For a change, all the staff at the track well NICE and courtious as well as getting everyone though quickly.

Oh, forgot to add, there was a bad *** PINTO out there today! It was running 13.4's on motor and slicks lol...it was kick *** ...

sorry so long..

sky:
my best for the day was

13.68 @ 108 mph
60" for that run was 2.31

My tires are wearing out and I could tell.
What was happening was when I hit the juice I would SMoke em all through second! Too much UMMPH for those things.
What had everything moving so quick is that werent that many "big boy's" out there. I got 6 runs in and brad got to race my car twice. (one with, one without NOS)

WithAMC: I just had an offer for a full set of welds (skinnys and wide rear) with almost brand new tires (nitto drag radials in the back) for 300 bucks so unless that falls through I am going to be buying those. I will let you know in a couple weeks

Damn! I should have sold you those rims when I had the chance.
Good times. I'm hoping to get out there the 1st or 2nd weekend in August when my daughter comes out to visit. Maybe we can line 'em up then.

Yeah GP6T, I forgot you beat cobras with a gutted Cat. They run 13.6 stock. So **** , you must be down in the mid to low 13's huh?

Guess you should race Ed's car and put some money on it.

As the saying goes, put up or shut up.

I agree, that is pretty funny! But I was still pleased with going because:
1. Had NO traction and still ran 13's
2. I did it in a VERT that has a track weight of 3680
3. I beat "faster" cars due to better driving

sky had a good idea
If you want to run 'em I would be up for it!
Next time I hit the track I will have proper tires though...

Forgot who asked but NA she ran 14.6 @96mph (again the 60 times are crappy but I didn't feel bad considering there were new stangs out there running worse!)

Don't worry Ed. Well... not that you should worry, you'd smoke him. But he'll never show up. He has a Solara that he thinks smokes Cobras. Im surprized he decieded to show his face here again.

Hey Sky

Has your piece of $hit broken down lately??
Maybe if you worked on it yourself you'd know what the hell is going on. It wont last long with the N20. And yes 13.6 with N20 is VERY FUNNY!!!

Have a nice day and buy a real car like a solara

GP6T:

So you want to run em or do you just want to troll a bit longer? Sky's POS has over 100,000 miles on it and runs 12.5 on motor. Thats impressive if you ask me (hell ask anyone!)
I am at least being honest and posting my times even though I am not exactly proud of them.
This site has always been more mature than others and doesn't need to degrade to this.
See you at the track...

What color was that pinto? I raced a green pinto about two years ago when I was n/a. He was running low 13's at about 102-103. Quick, little ugly car.

The pinto was blue with white racing stripes. Had a ugly hole in the hood with his air filter sticking out. He had a 289 in the thing! lol He was an older gentleman and he had mentioned that he has been racing off and on at Carlsbad since 1968! He said it USED to really be a hot spot with national competition there all the time...funny how things will just go to **** after awhile.

GP6T- I will never respond to one of your posts ever again. Im the last person here to be a dick. But as you already know, you are the instigating ******* that always tries to start problems. I really don't care what you think or have to say.

Honestly if you want to come to the track w/ us your local so why not? If your car runs faster than low 14's I will kiss your tires :-D, and say Im sorry for talkin crap about it. I'm not here to start problems. So Im not even going to respond to your last post.

If you understood anything about cars you would know that the 13.6 does not represent the potential of Ed's car. The MPH does. 13.6 is a direct result of traction problems. That 108mph trap would be good for about 12.5 if it pulled 1.7 60's.

And yes I work on my own car. And it has 150k miles.

I don't know how many 1.7 60' passes my tranny could handle! lol
Once I get some drag radials or slicks I will be content with 1.9-2.0 60' times. I am thinking I SHOULD (never know what might happen!) pull low 13's or maybe high 12's
I dont know how your tranny has held out so well! I plan on babying it for a while longer...
