I Need Some Mods Now..... Long Story
ok, at this light i look over & see a new prelude, the guy in
the car looks over, and i think that hes gona go when the lights green. so the light turns green, i take off like stink, and he just casually drives, so i shift to 2nd to drive normally, then when i think it's over, he does the ol' ricer fly by, and im already in 2nd, not thinking im gonna race, then he flys by, and i should have dropped a gear, but i eased it from 2nd, and was pulling on him the whole way, but then i slowed down, cause doin 160(km) into town in a 50 zone is a good way to loose your license BTW, i had my 2 8" subs, my amp, my spare tire, and a lot of other crap in the car, but thats not an excuse. im afraid to pull all the junk out of the back of my car right now, with winter on the way, i might even need some sandbags. I think i need to get that h pipe on this week, it will help me pull a little harder I put a new K&N on today, just for a little more power would my bbk 1-5/8 equal headers make my car faster now, how the car is, or should i just keep them hung on the wall lookin pretty? would i best benifit from 3.55 gears, or 3.73's? ps, i had another fly by tonight, but as i droped it into 2nd, the car went sideways, so i had to let him go.

I'd say to go with the 3.73's over the 3.55's unless you have plans for a serious power adder in the future.

what about my headers, keep the stockers on, or the bbk's?
im going to do the h pipe on friday i plan for either a twin turbo setup in the future, or maby a blower, but i hope to be running 11.5 or better. which gears do you all reccomend? id probably run on a 26x8" slick this coming summer with my 308 gears unless i can find someone to help put some better gears in. i was offered some 355's from a friend when he puts his 4.10s in, and there supposedlt still in good condition.

Put the Mustang away for the winter. You might lose it on "black ice" or snow before you get a chance to find this guy and race him.

Some of us can't afford to buy additional cars for winter, which is why my Stang see's winter duty, year #3 now.

It's not going to be interesting. I've driven through snow with totally bald tires in my Mustang GT before. It's hell. It's scary and it's not safe.
Get tires. I don't care how you do. Get good ones. If you can't, take the bus. I've been driving rear wheel drive cars for years in MN winters, and let me tell you right now, it's terrifying to drive a GT with baldies on it. You had better have your **** together and be about the best driver on the planet to keep your car outta the ditch. Remember, 2 towing jobs and you pay for 2 new tires. |

Anyways, getting back on topic: YES put the headers on. And I'd vote for 3.73's regardless of how or where you drive. They are excellent all around. |

I used 245/60/15 Cooper Cobras on my Mustang through the last 3 winters, without any problems. Well....there was the one time when the city plowed me in, but I was parked in the street. Anyways, my mods were everything in the sig, except the heads & cam. The only weight I added to the trunk was my battery, but that's for racing purposes. The important thing to remember is to take your time. Fortunately, I've been able to retire my car from daily driving status.

Must be nice. Last week here it was -30 celcius, (not sure what it is in farenheit but I do know that -40 degrees is equal on both scales ) and we have about 8" of snow on the ground. The Mustang has been parked for about a month now and I might be able to bring it back out in April or May.
