First track day of the year
I headed out on Saturday to make a few passes. The first ones on motor went well.
Easy launch, no powershift, and run 12.4 @ 111 mph. I cool it down and line back up. I heat the ET Streets really well, and launch at 4500. I spin through 1st, but still manage a 1.68 short time, and run a 12.14 @ 112.44. A new all motor best, even with a massive spring Michigan headwind. The I open the bottle and try again. Same burnout, a 1.61 short time, but half track I notice my fuel pressure is only at 65 psi, so I coast through the traps with an 11.4 @ 113 mph. I limp back to the pits and change my melted spark plugs. It turns out my fuel pressure regulator went bad. I would turn the key forward and the fuel pressure would prime up, then drop right off to zero. I just made a swap to 30 pound injectors too. So I hit Ramchargers on the way home from the track and picked up a new regulator. What sucks is that the nitrous run would have been my first 10 second slip.

Sorry to hear about the regulator, at least you noticed it before it was too late. On a side not, a guy right down the street from me just had his GT painted almost the same color as yours. That is one beautiful color.

At least the fuel pressure regulator is an easy fix.
Sounds like you're going to be hitting the 10's soon. Congrats! E

Sounds like it's running great! Great N/A times, what was your 1/8 et and mph on your nitrous pass?
You should have called me!

Thanks, I am going back on April 13th to a different (better hooking) traks opening day. Hopefully I will get my 10 second slip then.
87Vert, The Dirtways slips only read reaction, 60ft, and 1/4 e.t. and mph. Something must be up with their system. I would have called you, but I ran up there on a whim, expecting for them to not even let me run with no cage or scattershield. |
