![]() Man I wish I had seen this post earlier, My 88 gt with over 100,000 on the odometer ran a 13.4 at 105 in the 1/4 mile with the stock heads and stock ported intake.
Mods to the car were: 3.55 gears underdrive race crank pulley stock ported intake stock headers stock gutted h pipe dynomax mufflers traction bars sub frame connectors tremec trans ram clutch k&n air filter Chip no a/c no smog pump accell coil home made ram air We scraped all the black tar stuff off the floor The car cut a 1.9 to a 2.0 on street tires and would run the 1/4 mile in 13.4 at 105 mph in the middle of the summer. I never had it to the track on a cool day. It was done in Gainesville fl and yes the car was a freak. I wish my current mustang ran half as well as my 88 gt did. The best time I can get out of my current car is a 12.5 at 109 mph and I had a lot more done to it. It kind of makes you sick to see someone with so little mod’s run that good. As a matter of fact when I went to the 347 I actually slowed down to a 12.6 at 109 but I know it was not running right and needed a lot of tuning.
