Damn, that is sick. What did your friend do to get 486 to the wheels? That is just awesome. I can only wish.

I agree LACR sucks major big time...it is a curse.
my best run at LACR is 14.45 with the parts in my sig. I am a decent driver and i had 2.2 sixtyfoot times. my trap speed was like 96.8mph THAT SAME DAY (about 2 months ago) there was 03 yellow cobra there. he was getting a BEST of 14.1 i kid you not! he was bone stock to the tires and wasnt burning too much on launch. you could see that he wasnt that bad a driver...but LACR is crappy. its 3000ft high and windy and dusty and the track is never sticky enough and everyone there gets times way worse than what their cars can do at a decent track. but its the closest one to me and theres lots of cool cars there to race at least... (not counting the rice fodder)

lacr sucks balls!! It's only good for practice!! what about my friend tedge, he goes to lacr! his only mod is weld in flows. he runs 13.5's at 105-106mph in his 03 cobra there! he went to c/bad and ran a 13.2 @110mph!! many guys have put the stock cobras into the 12's! the best i've heard stock is 12.6 @111mph up in sacramento area! it's about the track conditions and driver!
I can tell you i have spent $1400 in mods and i granny shifted my way to all most 116mph trap speed! I pesonally don't feel that is slow!! I can also tell you the few ls1's i've run on the freeway was just silly!! it's only a matter of seconds before they are in the rear view mirror! I'm sure there are alot of ls1's that can beat me and it doesn't bother me! but when i see ls1's at lacr run mid 14's i don't say ls1's are SLOW! thats just dumb! take it easy! Leon

mid 14's?
You've got LS1's that run mid 14's. What's wrong with them? Do you think it's the car, track, or driver? All the ones I see here in Houston at HRP run low-mid 13's stock.

Rev:: hrp is near sea level yes?? the ones that i have seen run mid 14's are at palmdale. it's 2700ft elevation, 100+deg temps., killer side/head winds, and dirt blows onto the track from the desert off to the side of the track so traction can be limited! plus the drivers are usually less than par.
Most are mid to high 13's at this track. I was just trying to make a point that judging all cobras buy this one cobra's performance is just silly there are several guys over on www.svtperformance.com that have the same mods as me and are running high 11's at 120+mph. a couple of guys have even cracked into the 11's on the stock tires! driver and track prep make a huge diff. in what these cars are capable of! Leon

Yup, I agree
Air, track, prep all very important. I just couldn't imagine LS1's running mid 14's. 2700 ' above sea level certainly adds some time.
