Raced a saturn with inlaws volvo
I had to use there volvo station wagon to pick up our new table and chairs. We got it all loaded up and were on our way home when we pulled up to a stoplight. I noticed a blue light from the bottom of this car that was at the stoplight. It was that dumb LED exhaust tip that the ricers are buying now. So I pulled up next to him and noticed that it was lowerd, had some ugly chrome rims on it, and some stickers. I thought to my self this guy will race for sure so I put it in neutral and threw a few revs. He reved back and gave me a dumb look like i was on cack wanting race him with a wagon loaded with boxes in the back.
So here is how it went... the light turns green and he gets the jump and puts about 1 car on me. Then the intercooled turbo that the wagon has kicked in and we glided right by him while my wife laughed at him as we passed by. It was priceless to see his face after a station wagon with a crap load of cargo smacked his ***** down the road. I think we blew a few of his stickers off

Gotta love those Volvo Turbo Wagons!!
My wife has an 850 T5 and it kills a lot of wanna-be 's, especially on the freeway with the turbo spooling. Good kill.

Talking about Volvo kills reminds me of one of my own... I have a 63 p122s with the 65 horse 4 cylinder(i think that is the rating on them in the book) anyway this was aginast a buddy of mine I worked with at the time and he has a 91 corrola with a Home Depot Cold air kit. One day we left work and caught each other at a light and he threw a rev so i went ahead and ran him i brought the revs way up (don't know where no tach but it sounded like it was coming apart) an did the same type launch i would at the track in my race car well it suprised me it actually hooked(i bent my lower control arm doing this so if you have an old Volvo don't launch it from redline) up i shot about a car in front of him he caught up and passed me probaly around 1/8 mile down the road i laughed i expected him to beat the snot out of me. The really bad part is we live fairly close to each other so we got to top speed run too down the Houston Autobahn well we stayed pretty much side by side till 90 then i started to walk away from him i probaly only hit 100 but that is scary fast with a loose front end in a 40 year old car. I thought he let out of it because he got tired of us just pacing each other basicly. But he didn't he called me when he got home and told me that 90 was as far as it would pull in 4th and when he shifts to 5th it just holds it there until the next overpass and then slows down some. Well we all got a good laugh jackin with him for a few days. You know it was later that week i think that he went out and bought an old falcon and now he wants to make a good street driver out of it and replicate mine to an extent.

Now that I think of it... I like that wagon allot. It has heated seats and the power mirrors even work. I can't beleive I am going to say this, but i would trade my 93 even up for that car
