You should expect to completely smoke his @ss. You will kill him man. I think those cars hit like high 14's or something. Now go cook that rice!

Thanks for the reply man. One of my friends got me wondering because he seemed to think that they were high 13 sec cars stock. I wasn't sure so I wanted to chech and see what the real scoop was on this car. I will race this kid once he gets the car, I will try to borrow a video camera so I can let everyone know how it went. Take it easy.

Wow, Thats some funny sh*t.

That car will run a high 14 with an average driver and a mid 14 with a good driver.

Him beating you is about as likely as me beating a Viper GTS in my cobra.

There are 2 of them here where I live. One of them went to the track last year and ran a 15.7 @95mph.

Thanks guys, these are the type of answers I wanted to hear. I wasn't sure what this car could run with a good driver. I know for a fact that this kid SUCKS as a driver. I was trying to explain to him that it wouldn't be the same as driving his Civic, but he insisted that he could get in it and beat me because all he has to do is shift off of the 9,000 rev limiter. LOL I couldn't help but laugh. Oh well. I can't wait to race him. Thanks again guys.

My friend has an '01 ITR and even when my '00 GT was stock I would pull him from the holeshot and just keep pulling. He claimed before that at about 120mph I stopped pulling on him, so I put some longtubes my car and he doesn't even try to lie anymore. They are good on windy roads, but they aren't drag cars. Even with the LSD they are good for maybe 2.4-2.5 60-fts on street tires at best.

About 4 years ago (i think it was pre 99 body style mustang) Sport Compact magazine did a road test comparing the SIR and a 4.6 gt (bone stock non-PI car). Even by there own admission the Mustang beat the SIR in Drag racing, and Road racing (both on an actual track and a closed of mountain road)not by a little but alot they even admitted that For the price of a Mustang vs. the SIR and what it would take to make the SIR competitive the mustang would would cost less. They even tried to make a stacked test against the Mustang and lost by their own admission. I want to say Brian evans was the mustang driver but wouldn't swear to it they did bring in an outside driver because they admitted they would not have driven the car "properly" .

That article kept the rice quiet for a long time here and provided hours of laughs any time a kid woulf try to say he could out handle us. Some of my friends and I were more than proud to pull that Mag out of our car to show them the test and watch the smirk dissapear off there face.

I do not know what the sight is like anymore but there used to be some knowlledgale people at http://www.clubsir.com/ in the forums if you want more info.

Thanks for the support guys. I ran into him again last night and he was saying "I'm gunna smoke you man." I was like, with what? What do you think that car will run? He was like 14.5's to 14.0's. I started to smirk and laugh so he asked what my car ran and I was like take a guess. He said high 14's. I really started laughing hard then and started to walk away so he came up to me and said what does your car run? I said 12's and he couldn't believe it. He kept saying that I was saying B.S. I can't wait to race this little *****. LOL. Take it easy guys. I will be sure to get this one on tape.

Like everybody said. A stock integra TypeR should run about 14.5-14.7. You will see some 15-16s pass from stupid drivers and you might see some low 14s from very good drivers. A good driver should pull 2.1-2.2 60'.

BTW the rev limtier is at 8600rpm. so this punk is full of *****!

The ITR is a nice little car. It can be faily quick when pushed to the limit. One of my friend ran 13.9 @ 99 mph with his typeR.

Mods:
Timing at 18
Power steering belt removed
Tires at 20psi.

thats almost stock in my book!

So basicly. That punk as NO chance to even come close to beat you. So dont even bother racing him.

Default ya never know...

be careful with some of these little cars, a friend of mine has a 01 type R, got a turbo on it (think like 13lbs) new rods, pistons, rings, ported head, exhuast, all the goodies that they can pull out and he ran a 12.1 @117 or so with a 2.1 60ft.. i wouldnt want to race him from a roll but at the strip next year i might have a chance of beating him with slicks, and being that im all motor hes got an advantage also.

when you race him dont even think about racing him, pretend that you're by yourself and trying to break a new time, i know when i think about racing someone it messes me all up cause i get to excited, i feel now its better to be excited AFTER you smoke him and then could talk chit after they're done runnin their mouths. jmo

Vinny

PS - if hes stock you'll KILL him so put money on it but look under his hood hehhee

Special K,
Thanks for the info. This kid can't drive very well at all. It is sad. I have ridden in his 5 spd Civic, he can't shift very well. He was trying to show off because he knows I want to race him. So, I doubt he could manage low 15's. I will race him, like Green93notch said I could use the money. hehe

I will be sure to look under the hood and let you guys know what he has done to it. I really doubt he is going to have a lot of money to buy mods when he gets this car. But, we will see.

I can't wait to get my heads back from FTI and run my car the track to see how much I gained.

Take it easy guys.
