Takin on the titan, Me Vs. 03 Cobra!
Alright, im drivin around and i pull up to some of the kids at the "hangout" I get a race in against a 97 Formula, (i got beat) Then I get beat by an RX-7( i know shut up). Then i leave and i pull up next to an 03 Cobra at a red light! He rolls down his window and goes" Green Light" I figure, what the hell. So light turns green, i beat him through first gear, turns out he was smokin his tires, so he passes me like im a grandpa with a walker, fun though. So i follow him into a gas station and we are talking and this kid pulls up, same RX-7 from earlier, guy in the cobra asked him if he wanted to race, kid says no im done, guy tells him its a v6. kid says OK! ILL FOLLOW YOU!! bright kid. i had to go home so i didnt see em race, I want an 03 now!!!!!! anyone wanna trade me?

hmm, lt1 beat you, let me suggest something, full exhaust, any kind of header besides stock, 1-5/8 size recomended, pullies, 1.7 rockers, advance timing, gears, good tires on the rear, pull the front swaybar, and show that formula where he belongs.

Right now lots of things are gonna be outta your league get some gears 4.10's and redo your exhaust. 03' cobras will still waste your @ss but the LT-1's wont.

I agree, without a power adder of your own (and or engine work) the 03 is a little out of reach. But the LT1's are definitely beatable.
Your like me, I don't care, I will race anyone. I have too much fun doing it. I don't really care if I win or lose. When I had my 88 GT with a few bolt-ons (gears, exhaust, pulleys and K&N) I used to take care of LT1's pretty easily. Get some more mods and give it hell. Jason

"Sell th mach 1" Yeah ok, ill just sell a car that is worth more sitting in a driveway than my car is driving around. I dont care what other people think of me, ill build my car slowly, i dont need to sell a car to buy parts for another. Especially a 1969 MACH 1! jees. No offense but thats not even a suggestion in my book. a 408 would kick ***** though. But, I could just drop in one of my 427's or perhaps a 351C or maybe a 390. I have all the blocks at my house. But i need my car as a daily driver, not a drag only car.

I raced a cobra once at the track...beat it by a tenth. He spun through first and second. BUT THAT DOESN'T MATTER! Oh well I always make LT1's my ***** though.......at least.

As with any car, with a bad driver the Cobra can be beat. I ran 12.47@113.6 with x-pipe, flowmasters, and K&N filter (on street tires).
So for every good (or decent driver) there are probably 5 bad ones. I am not trying to flame anyone, just trying to help reinforce the point, that learning how to drive better could be one of the most important mods Jason

YEAh, the cougar would bury an Lt1/Ls1, and it would beat that cobra too. But my dad doesnt let me drive it, no insurance for the winter. We just got done building it up. Its awesome, Guesstimate , 425hP, with a weak cam in it, we are puttin a bigger cam in it later.
