big street race to take place not too far from where i live. its gonna be in hickory n.c. seems a dude it a mid 5 second(8th mile) fox body is gonna race a 540 cube chevelle that runs 5.90's. the mustang has a stroked 351(427 cubes) and is gonna spray a 400 shot!!!!!!!!! read all about it at ls1.com in the "one that did'nt get away" section. this is unbelievable. they are racing for 500 bucks and the props of being the "one".

I don't know if I would want to "street" race in a couple cars that fast! I think I'd go to the track.

Yea i was reading it last night. Looks like the chevy guy is gonna be taken down. the chevy has run 5.90's with a 300 shot and the mustang runs mid 5's on a 200 shot and will be using 400 for that race.

Anything can happen with cars like this on the street. There won't be any water box or VHT, so traction will be an issue. And whose to say say if someone "red lights"?

Let's just hope that nobody twists an axle as I'd bet both cars are running spools. No matter who wins, I just hope nobody gets hurt.

yeah, you are both right, street racin' is dangerous. cars that fast and all the variables....but my goodness i wish i could have seen it!!!!!!!

I agree it would be something to see. As a street racer, I'm not being critical, but these two have awesome power and either one can win.

I think someone's got a chance of leaving their bottom end all over the road with a 400 shot.

He's not spraying on a stock bottom end, it's a built motor. And the race already took place, the mustang won.

Do you know anything about a mustang club at I-40 exit 100, morganton? I have seen it listed on sites but it doesn't give any contact info. I live down the road from you near East Burke High School.

Sorry, don't know anything about it. I gave up on the club thing several years ago, so that's probably why I don't know anything about it. Most of the guys I know are in Hickory and Gastonia, can't say I honestly know anyone from Morganton that even owns a mustang.
