'86 GT Vs. '94 Cobra
Met up with my friend again last night at the F-Body meet....both of us brought our stangs
We ran the '86 against the Cobra ('94, gears, exhaust, cold air, shifter, Steeda G-Trac suspension) The one i ran the other night in the LS1. 1st run from about 10 mph...He let me have the kick. I pulled at the start about 1.5 cars spinning. Hit 2nd spun a hair more but still ahead of the Cobra. Hit 3rd and the Cobra starts to slowly reel me in. He was around my rear bumper. Powershifted 4th and at around 85 we shut down with him right beside me. I was surprised the '86 ran so well. 2nd run was from 40. Again he let me have the jump. I pulled a good car off the start...Powershifted 4th and he was creepin up again. Let off with him beside the '86 at around 85 again. Any more speed and he would have started to pull good. It was some good close races. I need to run my LS1 against my '86

I am very surprised your 86 runs so well with the stock E6 heads.
Most of the 86's around here are still in the 15's with bolt ons. Its a freak!!!

Dark 5.0....I thought I was going to get stomped! I hung in there pretty good. Last time at the track my '86 Went 14.0s at mid to high 97 mph. It still has the 17 year old stock long block in it Knock on wood.
84GT....You'll get it down. Seems like everyone out there knows the best thing for your car. Nevermind them, and have fun. It was some fun, CLOSE races.
