Default Been a while, how bout a benz?

Hi guys. I havent been in in a while. The last time I visited I posted about the SRT4 before it came into production. Most of the ppl here said that it would be a piece of junk and wouldnt pull the numbers/times projected.
Well the little car did and the stage II kit should pull it into the 12's with traction at well over 300hp.

Anyway, **** the neon. I wanted to ask about the Mercedes 230 kompressor. Does anyone know what they run in the qm? How about chip upgrades to bump the boost or good exh upgrades? I would appreciate any info. Thank you.

I dont know exactly what they run but I can tell you that they are nice little cars with plenty of pep.

I love the Kompressor and as you know anything can be made fast I imagine it is deep in the 14's though.

BTW: Did you see the 4 banger battle Car and Driver had last month where all of the popular 4 bangers were tested head to head with lots of mods.

I would tell you how the Neon did but it broke down before testing ..............Still a Neon

Since your initial SRT4 post I have raped several SRT4's in my cobra

But yeah the Kompressor is a cool car it is hard to beat German engineering.

Thats cool. I never expected the SRT4 to rape a cobra...just keep up a new GT. The stage 1 neons are hitting strong 13's and the stockers are consistantly hitting low 14's.
The 04 SRT4's are supposed to come with the stage 1 kit and a LSD from the factory. That should be sweet.
Anyway, I test drove the Mercedes today and Im hooked. This is just a really nice car. It has the tinted glass roof with leather interior and the 17" thin spoke alloys. If I can swing the payments Im gonna buy it. Its not very fast though. Im guessing high 15"s.
They made a supercharged 2.5 liter in 02 that was faster.

My boss must have the supercharged one cause his is pretty quick.

I would drive a Kompressor over my cobra, I would leave it stock and put some nice rims on it and cruise it.. How much do they cost anyways?

around 35-40 I would guess.

Cool

The only thing I know about a Benz, is that we have one at the local track that runs a 12.000 @ 114. And it is the BIG Ol Benz.

Its a low 15 high 14 second car. The 02 was slightly faster mainly because of the displacement difference(it was a 2.3 BTW) but it rode rougher and didn't get decent mileage for its size. That is why MB replaced it with the 1.8 that is in the car now. Also, about the SRT4 comments, sure, they actually gave it the power the pre-production car had, but that still doesn't change the fact that it is a poorly built econo/rental car...only now its on steroids. I'd take the SVT Focus over the SRT4 and people probably know how I feel about THAT car.
