Ran another built 6 spd LS1 and a 331 equiped '89 Ex Hwy patrol car
Went to the track last night to run my friends '99 T/A who wasn;t had it to the track with the new motor but hasa forged bottom end (300 miles old), huge cam (601/607), 6 spd, 12 bolt with 4/10's, full exhuast, Bald Nittos. He wanted to do some MPH runs so he dialed in a 14.0 to my 12.2. What he would was trip the lights when his started to count down and red light then go off of my green so we would have a even start. Thi was done so that he would not get kicked out for not having a cage.
1st race. We take off fairly even and he bogs. The A4 is not forgiving and starts to pull. A4 clicks 2nd and I am still pulling. Click 3rd and i look back. He is about 2.5-3 cars behind but inching up. we cross the beams and I am 2.5 cars ahead. Score one for the auto 2nd race. We get a killer dead even start except the 6spd is right next to me. i know i am in trouble now. My A4 is banging 2nd right next to him---door handle to door handle. His car is leaping from him changing gears. My A4 clicks 3rd and he starts to walk me. He pulls me by about 2 cars for the win. 1 to 1 now. 3rd run. He spun bad and just let out. He was traping 120's all motor and full weight in humid air with just 300 miles on that motor. Very fast car. My car is just fast enough that if i get ahead or a he just has the smallest mistake....I could get him. Great runs. Next was another friends '89 coupe which weighs 2970, has a 331, AFR 185 heads that have been worked, extruded honed edelbrock intake, 282 cam, full exhuast, Nittos, and a TKO. His best run has been 12.1 @ 116 but last night his best was 12.3 @ 114. So him and I are cruzin home when he wants to line them up from a roll. Picking on the auto from a roll. ha ha. J/K. He go from 60 mph and i am about 3000 at this point, not the best to go from. He gets a slight jump of the honk and pulls a car. He then pulls me another car, and then i stop his pull. I start to inch back but the ground between us is too much. he got me by about 2 cars to 105 ish. Score one for the coupe Next run is from 40 mph a great mph for the LS1 to go from. 3 honks and we are off! Through my A4 2nd we are dead even! click 3rd at about 85-90 and the LS1 starts the famous 3rd gear pull. He is bangs 4th, my A4 clicks 3rd and i pull a half car to 115. Very close race. We give each other the thumbs up and walk away with even victories. Fun night...thought i would share.

Anything can happen. You have to get into the 11's first (like my n/a stock displacement full weight with A/C LS1). If things go right I will have the Cobra when you are here.
The guy I raced in the coupe said it was more like a couple of cars. I stopped looking over when I was a half car ahead. He told someone I destroyed him.
