Lizard King, I read in Hot Rod a few years back that sometimes cars can come off the same assembly line a little faster than others because maybe the T/B may have got an extra mm or so, or or an intake may have less burrs, wrong cams installed by accident,or wrong heads. You know like maybe someone mixed up the GT cam or intakes with the Cobra or something like that.
They said not every car runs EXACTLY like the next one. So you may have got a "good" car from the factory.
I remember in school I had a 1977 Pinto 2.3l automatic and that thing had no right at all to run as well as it did....it just did.
It was no race car but it beat or held it's own against many six cylinders.
