Welcome! Judging from your username, you like ICP, eh?
Well, you've come to a Mustang board, so you can assume that there will be a concensus, but we are very open minded around here and can give you the pros and cons on each. First off, you have to figure out what you want to do, mainly: are you gonna mod the car, or keep it stock? If you plan on modding it, the Mustang is the way to go. There is a much bigger aftermarket for the mustang, so stuff is easier to find and cheaper. As well, the mustang is easier to work on and respondes VERY well to modifications. If you don't want to mod the car, then the camaro would be a better choice, because STOCK it is faster than a stock mustang. Whichever one you get, you will be happy, cause stock for stock, they will DESTROY all rice (that includes eclipses, civic si's, integra type-r, you name it) and once you mod 'em, rice can't touch you. Glad that you have broken off of rice, what mods do you have on your eclipse? |

On numbers, the new GT mustangs run low 14's in the quarter (hardtop, 5speed), and the camaro runs mid 13s i think? For comparison, the integra type r runs 14.7, the top 'o' the line eclipse is about 14.5, and a civic si is maybe low 15.

I agree with what has been said. The Camaro's are a pain to work in but they are also very rewarding in terms of how they respond to mods. Don't forget they have detuned Corvette motors.

I love my GT. Mustangs look sweet, and the possible mods are endless. BTW, Would you be looking to get a new GT, or get an older one?

If you are lucky, you'll get a strong one like Lizard! At worst, the new ones run low 14's which is plenty fast to start with!

If you want info on modular mustangs, you should be hangin out in modular madness...
I live in Dallas, although I won't get my car back from Dallas Mustang until next week... Hey, I'm content to wait for 400rwhp... ------------------ "The Yellowjacket" Ricer 1: What the heck was that!? Ricer 2: I don't know. It looked kind of like a yellow SN95 Mustang. Ricer 1: Nah, fast SN95 Mustangs don't exist... Must have been a mirage or something... [This message has been edited by Hammer (edited 05-11-2001).] |

Issat near Halsville dragway? I know there are several bad f-bodies and stangs that run out there. I think the fastest lt1 heads/cam guy i know of is chris Benningt, he went 11.22 or so in his daily driver.
I dunno.. both are killer rides, i do know that modding the f's is much easier than it used to be, b/c of the choices you now have. *shrug* 400rwhp (w/o the blower hehe) heads/cam/exhaust lt1 should run 11's.. Either way you'll love it EDIT: When i say heads/cam/exh in 11's.. i dont mean lil girlie parts, but nothin that'll make it difficult to drive (cc306, 230/244 @ .050 on a 112, stock Al lt1 heads ported out *still gotta few cfm in em easily* etc.) [This message has been edited by SkarodoM (edited 05-11-2001).] |

if thats a good intake and exhaust (not filter and fart....) then that would put up a fight for a stock stang. Since you say you want to mod the car, i'd say go with the mustang all the way. Get one, and void the warranty as fast as you can! On a stock stang, just doing rear gears will put you into the high 13's, and i don't think that will void the warranty.

Ok well my intake and exhaust are not filter and fart can its full intake and cat back exhaust and i want to mod the mustang but how do i start which brands are good and what works as opposed to what is supposed to work because some things say they do 10-15hp but only do like 3hp
