Win some.......lose some.
Last night at HRP, my car ran about .1 slower than usual.
1.) Heavily modded '95 Z-28 with heads, cam, headers, exhaust, 3200 stall, and who knows what else ran a 12.57 to my 14.05. What's funny is i got him till almost half way down the track. He the came barrel a$$ing by me, beating me by 8-10 lengths. 2.) Raced a 2000 AOD GT that had pulleys, K&N , cold air and nothing else. Beat him by 2 lengths. Nice guy, talked afterwards, that's how I knew what he had. He ra 14.2XX. About normal for 2000 GT AOD (minor mods). 3.) Camaro LS1, unknown mods. beat me like a drum. Maybe 10 lengths. Didn't get a chance to talk. Plenty quick though. 4.) '87 Camaro. Tried to talk to the guy in the staging lanes before the run, but he was defensive. Asked how his car ran and he just said "Fast, like a Chevy does". No more talking after that. I beat that 327 like a red headed step child. Maybe 15 lengths. 5.) Best race was a '90 LX. Modded to some unknown degree. I knew we ran similar times from chatting while our cars cooled down. I got him slightly off the line, but we ran "door handle to door handle" all the way down. I'm still not sure who won at the finish line. it was that close. Definitely my kind of race. Really nice guy, friendly the whole way through. Fun runs at the track. I always know ther will be slow pokes and fast ones compared to me. Always fun tough. Rev ------------------ '66 Coupe, 306, 300 HP, C-4, 13.97 e.t., 100.3 mph 1/4 mi. |
