Talking

In my stock '87GT years ago, I passed a buddy of mine in his '89 Formula 350 Firebird. My speedo only registered 85 but his said 139 when I passed him. I've only done that once and don't plan on doing it again. The fun part is seeing how fast you can reach the posted speed limit (or a little faster).

If you'll look at his quote a little further he said he was betting it might pull to 150. Not totally unreasonable. Pulling hard is relative. In this case he wasn't talking like it was pulling the 0-60 all over again, just that it had some room left.

Unit5302's right. It still had room left (wasn't hitting a wall). To me that's pulling pretty good still.

FYI the ambient temperature that night was in the zone of 30 degrees. Canadian winters are fun

Not too sure of my top speed. Have had it up too 150mph. that is all my speedo goes to. I plan on getting a 200mph speedo soon. Can and will not go that fast again on the street, so I am going to the salt flat to give her all she gots as soon as I do some more mods.

278 kmh about 173mph before the turbo and gear swap the car was pulling hardder than i wanted it to (wouldnt do that again)

on the tranny (t5) there are two wires hooked up to 5th that you can disconect for higher top speed.

Buried the needle on the speedo at 150mph in my GT. That was on a pretty empty stretch of freeway, going slightly downhill, in the middle of Sacramento. I realized how stupid it was (and how lucky I am to still have a license) so I don't plan on doing it again anytime soon.

What a rush, though!
