Your mph is definately affected by how much you spin. If you spin your mph will go up 2-3 mph. If you hook you will have a faster e.t. but your mph will be down a few. Cecil county is a very fast track. Definately the fastest track in md and i bracket race at all of them quite regularly. In the same conditions i am a tenth to a tenth and a half faster at cecil then at capitol raceway. Cecil is down hill past 1/8 mile.

Lol...can't believe this thread has been brought back to life
recently went to the local strip...no it's not a 1/4..not it's not an 1/8...it's actually a little shorter..due to the fact that we drag on an oval strip. I was pretty disapointed at my first run. Lost to some POS white galaxy. 2nd Run, knocked a 5.0 Capri out, CYA...3rd race...Broke out of class. They had me in the 6.8 class...first time ever racing there. Broke out with a 6.62. Now the next class up is 6.5. I know i can break outa that if i can get a little more traction. Traction at this place = launches at about 1200 rpms. I'm actually thinking of driving further upstate ..maybe to syracuse or buffalo to goto a real 1/4 track. Oh yeah, temp wise...I don't have an actual gauge...other then the one that is in the car. It runs usually at the 2nd line from the bottom...but occasionaly will run at the next line up. *Update...Got some 2.5" Flows thrown on the Stang. It's like a brand new car. And i also figured out that I have 3.08's in the rear end.

Im guessing about mid to high 15's, Those meters fricking suck. Tried once and started laughing. Dont waste your money. I have a 93 Gt, Cold air intake, BBK shorty headers, Dr. gas X-pipe with full 2 1/2 inch piping with flowmaster 2 chamber mufflers, holley underdrive pulleys, msd 6A, electric fans, Centerforce II clutch, 245/50ZR16 Pirrelli P7000's, Hurst pro-shifter, My best time was a 15.3 @ 95mph. Stock 2.73 rearend. If you want to go fast at the track you need a rear-end, like a 3.27 or 3.55 of 3.73, you get the idea.
