02Vert-Hawk You said that the web page in the above says that a WS6 has 345hp. I just went there and it says 335hp. And the Pontiac page says that they only have 310hp. I think you need to get your fax right before you make a claim.
I do love the looks of the WS6. Every time I see one I get an adrinaline (hope that is spelled right) rush. They make me think back to my cousins 78TA with a 6.6l. The above statment was not a flame just an observation.

He is talking about the Firehawk with 345hp. I thought the WS6 only had 325, surprised to see that 335hp mark.

Those ratings are crap anyway. We all know that.
300 rwhp from a stock 6-speed car, add 15 percent for driveline losses, and you get................345!!!!

The 345 HP figures are for the Vette with a longitudinal exhaust system. The transverse muffler in the SS and Hawks costs some SAE horsepower. The LS-1's are under rated no matter which configuration you choose. The outfit where I dyno my car (TNT Motorsports) say that the SS Camaros dyno 290-300 hp stock. Thats probably 345 at the flywheel for a 6 speed.

Stock ones usually dont want to race me we have some s/c ones that run high 11's, but even those are not untouchable.

We all know most of these "pony war" cars are under-rated anyways. Just like the old days.

02-VertHawk - in response to your inquiry about racing a late-model GT, I think you would win, but may be surprised at how the GT keeps up.
Again, the driver can make or break a race, but all things equal you should win. Good to have you "F-Body" guys on the board. Take care, E

Mods go something like this:
Trick Flow Alum. heads - 65 cc's = ~9.0:1 comp. Small cam (480/480) Pulleys Exhaust GT-40 intake, 65mm TB, 75 mm MAF 3.55 gear 1.6 roller rockers And some other small stuff. The low compression and heavy porting on the exhaust side of the heads is for a future ProCharger. E
