So? What's the question and or problem? I don't see it. I did go a 17.96 at 78 with a 2.74 60'. I did what work is done to it and dropped to a 60' of 2.19. I Street race so I dont wanna put ET and Mph. I know now I goofed by putting 60', cuz the 60' my car has,DOES NOT! reflect ET.I think u all get that. Its like my friend with his Malibu, it goes 1.41 60'at an 11.48-A 1.41 is VERY low for an 11.48.I put the Acura part in there just to say there r Cars out there that Grandma drives that can run Low 14's to High 13's.And u r correct MY Engine is A Non- HO 5.0.Came with the Car, An 86 Grand Marqui.I hoped this helped, hehe.

86 Grand marqi you put alot of weight on 60ft times despite the fact that the large majority of the street races I have been in/set up go from a roll. But I am sure you know that street racing god

FWIW I have seen two different 02 maxima's run. One guy had a K&N filter only and ran a 14.08@100.2 at Tri-State dragway in Cincy in october 2001 with an outside temp of 56 and 42% humidity (sorry I take alot of notes on my time slips) I know because I ran against him in my 93 Vette I beat him but it was damn close I ran a worst ever 14.01@101.9 we both pulled 2.0 60's.
The other one I saw was bone stock. It ran at Byron outside Chicago on a 80`day with 76% humidity he ran 14.3@97. It was his best run most of his runs were 14.5's @ 96 or so. This time I know because I am his brother and we were there running His car and my mom's SC400 (14.1@101) Rev, I hope this helps in your quest for knowledge on this subject

Street Racing God? LOL! I am Very Good at Math and of "Human Moves" , BUT NOT A GOD!. I am No Mechanic,so if u r looking to "get" me on something, there u r I bet.Seriously, VERY Few Races down here r from a rolling start which means to me, Both cars roll to some Mph, 5-20 or so and then GO! The "Rolling Out Front" term used in the Other Post is NOT the same thing we mean here."Rolling Out Front" is when Both Cars r at the Line, then 1 car takes off and when that car reaches a certain distance out front, the other car Leaves. I REALLY like these races for a number of reasons 1. Noone ever seems to know how many they CAN or CANNOT give the other guy.2. U need 2 "extras" so to speak in that race, 1 guy to B down track at the spot, and when the car gets to him, he drops his hands for the other guy to go,And u also need a guy to "watch" the 2nd guy to make sure he doesnt leave B 4 the Guy down track drops his hands.3. There r 3 things that "Make" the 2nd car Lose.1..He pays to much attention the the first car.2..The Guy down track has to "react" to the car reaching him and drop his hands.3..The 2nd guy has to "react" the the dropping of the hands,,,, and ALL this makes him worry about the "watcher" guy making sure he doesnt leave to soon.LOL!------But as far as a True Rolling Car Race, not to many down here, I have seen a few,but not to popular. Please No quotes, LOL!Later.

I have heard some messed up ways to start a race, but I think 86 Grand Marqui takes the cake. Doesn't anybody just line 'em up and go on green anymore??

Uh...I saw a Turbo NSX that had a 2.2X 60' but wiht a trap of 126!!! 60' is only part of the equation.
BY the way, I saw the NSX at the Fast & Furious Casting Call in Santa Monica on the 3rd. Real nice guy drove it. Over 500HP at the wheels. Later, Dave

Well, I've been looking for a new Maxima to run now for a week or so. Last Sunday about noon , I saw one up ahead on the Houston Beltway 8 feeder road where I prefer to street race.
I ran up to 80 or so to catch up and lined up next to it at the light. When I looked over to see who was in it, there was this middle aged man and woman that looked like they were dressed for church (probably had just left and were headed for Luby's for Sunday dinner). They looked over and just smiled. I just couldn't bring myself to rev at them. I'm gonna keep looking for a new Maxima to race mainly out of curiosity. Rev

Never pass up a potential race. You'd be surprised, while I'm hardly middle aged(33), I wear a suit to work, am getting grey, and never pass up a good safe race. And I drive a GrandPa Buick(supercharged of course!)

[B]OK, you'all have convinced me. I'm now gonna have to go find a new Maxima and blow his doors off just to see how close he can hang. If I lose though, I'm gonna have some kind of stuff all over my face. But I doubt it. I expect to win by 20 car lengths in the 1/4 mile. Any Maximas want to run in Houston? Ill try you out, I have a 2003 nissan maxima 6-speed, coldair intake, underdrive p, advanced timming 2 deg, short throw shifter, catback dual exhaust, jet performance chip, and have the heli-coil front diff. I wouldnt be so cocky, i have beaten alot of mustangs stock and modded, 5.0's and 4.6's. You guys did have fast cars years ago and maybee were unbeatable by a 4 door, but now a days ill beat guys like you on my way home from the grocier store with a trunk full of grub, in a car that real girls fall in love with when the sit their pretty little asses on my heated leather seats while listing to my bose stereo system, with the sunroof open watching a dvd on the navigation screen, ohh yahh most of them like shifting my stick (6spd) not a little 5spd rust box, name the time and place we well go for it, good luck youll need it |
